Neighbourhood
Our house is a lovely semi detached property in a quiet road. It was built in the 1930's and has a lovely feel to it. It's very handy for the train station, the village and the town centre. We have off street parking if you have a car and a dropped kerb if you have two cars.
Carshalton is a beautiful and quaint village. There is lots of history and I believe it's even mentioned in the Domesday Book. We have a beautiful park and ponds and a 12th Century church, which has a connection to Anne Boleyn ( Her Well is next to the church) There is a village bakery, tea rooms, green grocers etc. Also Honeywood Museum where you can learn a lot more about the village. They also do a lovely afternoon tea by the ponds. We have lots of old pubs and eateries. There is also a small theatre and a leisure centre. There are several nature walks and the Wandle Trail is one of them.
Carshalton is famous for its lavendar fields and in summer the sight is truly breathtaking. We are a 15 minute walk to both Carshalton Village and Sutton Town Centre.
Carshalton train station is a 10 minute walk from the house with trains going into London, Victoria (every 10 minutes) with a journey time of 30 minutes. If you walk into Sutton you will have the option of getting a fast train into London. Sutton train station is a 15 minute walk away and has trains into London and Wimbledon, (if you like tennis) and has an excellent shopping centre. The number S3 bus literally stops outside our house and goes into Sutton and stops outside the station, Where you can catch the bus or coach into Gatwick or Heathrow.
We do not have any pets.
Getting around
Carshalton overground station is a 10 minute walk.
