Situated just ten mins from the historic city centre of York, my home is a modern semi- detached with lovely gardens on three sides. It is filled with light and decorated in white and light colours. I have a passion for photography and you'll find some of my artwork hanging on the walls. There's a brand new modern and well equipped kitchen, cosy living room and dining room which overlooks the garden, where you can sit out in the summer months. The location is in a very quiet residential street and yet it's only a 10 minute bus or car journey into the vibrant city centre. This offers the perfect mix of a quiet location and ease of access to the city.

We had a wonderful time at Kay’s place in York, UK. The house is cozy and has everything you could need.
The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet, yet very close to the city centre. We took the park and ride bus into York. Would definitely come back on a return trip to York!
Kay's home was great, I slept very well. It is very close to the racecourse just outside of York. It's a 10 minute walk to the buses that go into town. Ubers are plentiful and affordable in the area.
Kay was wonderful at making sure I was looked after and very thoughtful. I had a great long weekend exploring the area.
It was an absolute delight to stay at Kay's wonderful home in York. Light filled and contemporary - we felt 'at home' as soon as we arrived. Kay's house is just down the road from York racecourse - a great place to take a morning run (as long as the races aren't on) - and home of the local Park Run on a Sunday morning!
The situation of the house was perfect, easy to get out of York to explore the wonderful surrounding countryside, but also easy to get into the city -with busses straight into the centre just a five minute walk away.
Kay was easy to communicate with ahead of the swap, provided lots of great tips and information on local 'things to do' and was very thoughtful in making the swap a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Kay was very tidy and responsible, cannot fault her.
Kay was a great guest in our Edinburgh home, we arrived back to a house exactly as we'd left it, and Kay gave us some great feedback on some of the sights and attractions of Edinburgh she'd visited.
Kay was easy to chat to both before and during the swap - and we're already talking about future swaps. 100% recommend!
It was great to do a home exchange with Emily. Her home is spacious and light and has wonderful views out towards the lake district hills and yet is very close to the lovely town of Ulverston. The beds are super comfy and there's a huge sofa in the living room for lounging and relaxing on. We loved Ulverston! It's a very friendly town with lots of great pubs and a vibrant live music scene. There are beautiful beaches and lots of nature reserves to visit close by too. It was really easy to organise the swap with Emily and she left my home looking perfect for my return. Would highly recommend a swap to see this fantastic undiscovered corner of the Lakes.
Emily and family were lovely guests and left everything tidy and clean. I would highly recommend for another swap. And we hope to visit Ulverston again as we loved the place! Emily even washed all the bedding for me so I had very little to do on my return. Thanks for being such great guests!
It was a great pleasure arranging an exchange with Michelle and we met up at my house in York. She was really easy to communicate with in advance and we exchanged lots of shared tips and advice for York and London.
Michelle was the perfect guest and great fun to get to know a little. She left my place immaculate and she really appreciated it. I would highly recommend Michelle for anyone wanting to do a swap with her in London.
Thoroughly enjoyed staying in Catherine and James' beautiful Edinburgh home. It's a lovely light and bright modern home and feels really comfortable and relaxing. The location is fantastic because you can walk straight from the house up to the Pentland hills and the views over the city are stunning. Beds are super comfy and kitchen well equipped, not that we did much cooking with so many brilliant eateries on the doorstep! Just a few stops on the bus and you are in the centre of historic Edinburgh with so much to explore. Everything ran like clockwork with the swap and Catherine is super organised and helpful so that meant there were no concerns about the dates of the swap etc. I would highly recommend this swap to anyone interested in visiting Scotland and Edinburgh. Thank you so much Catherine and James!
It was brilliant to have Catherine and James from Edinburgh to stay in my York home. They were perfect guests and the communication in advance of the swap worked really well. Swapping between York and Edinburgh was a great idea as the train links up and down the country are so easy (under 3 hours Edinburgh to York and vice versa). Thanks for leaving my home just as lovely as you found it :)

"Looking for a swap in May or June 2023, any location in
France considered but near to the coast is even better."
