General overview
Independent apartment set inside our stunning modern architectural designed house. With nods to Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, La Villa Noire is nestled just above the center of Montreux, famous for the yearly jazz festival. The house has been newly refurbished with Mid Century Modern flair featuring a luxurious king sized bed. Beautiful, lush garden, free parking, easy access to the highway and close to public transport. We live upstairs in the main house so are often around during your stay. I am a trained chef and have been known to provide guests with catering services upon request.
We ask that you provide a fee of 60 Swiss francs cleaning fee upon departure.
Unfortunately, we are not set up to host families or small children.
The space
La Villa Noire is a fantastic base for summer and winter activities. It is a quick walk to the center of Montreux and the beach. Skiing, snow shoeing and sledding are all within a 30 minute drive. You can hike to the top of a stunning mountain in 3hrs just stepping outside the door, have an amazing lunch and then take the train down. One of our favorite ways to spend a day.
La Villa Noire is set up for a maximum of two people:
*Large self-contained apartment of 55 square meters with own entrance
*Flat screen TV, Netflix, sound bar, Sonos sound system in living room and bedroom, fast wifi
*New, state of the art, fully equipped kitchen with sharp knives, quality cookware and premier Gaggenau appliances. If you love to cook you will love this kitchen. With wonderful markets in both Montreux and Vevey the best of Swiss produce is readily available.
*American King Size Bed with Four Seasons mattress, memory foam pillows and fine bed linens. Green velvet blackout curtains to assure the best sleep ever
*Sofa and velvet lounge chair (both from Room & Board, USA), Kartel light fixtures and many other Mid Century Modern design features
*Garden access with table and chairs to relax and enjoy nature and the sounds of the gurgling stream next to the property
*Newly renovated bathroom with large bathtub, rain shower and fluffy towels
*Washing machine and dryer located in the main house garage (available upon request as you have to access the main house).
Guest access
The apartment is on the ground floor with no stairs.
We have space for one additional car in our driveway. There is often free parking just outside our gate and a large public parking lot is a 3 minute walk away.
Notes
La Villa Noire is the perfect holiday flat for two adults. There is no set up for young children or infants traveling with parents.
We live in the main house so will be on hand for any questions you may have.

David and I are massive travel enthusiasts - and love to discover the world often staying in rented accommodation. We are enthusiastic hikers and outdoor people in general. I am a trained chef so cooking, eating and drinking are a big part of our adventures. Usually just the two of us, but sometimes we organize big family holidays with our parents and grown children. We are very respectful guests and great communicators.
David and I are super excited to begin hosting guests in our newly renovated home in Montreux called La Villa Noire. Being global adventurers ourselves, we know what travellers will look for and have painstakingly created an environment to meet all your needs and ensure a perfect night’s sleep. We plan to exchange the one bedroom independent apartment located in our home. Unfortunately, the apartment is not set up for families or young children.
I also often cook for our guests - they either dine upstairs with us in the main house or I prepare meals that are easily heated up in the oven or on the stove. We love to meet new people so opening our home up is a wonderful way to do that.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
