Garry reached out on the PLU Facebook group needing a place to stay in England at short notice. I offered a week's stay, but I was unable to arrange for our cleaner's to go in before his arrival (this is our holiday home and we were out of the country). Garry took this completely in his stride, said they didn't mind at all & were very grateful for the stay. He arrived to clean sheets and towels hanging all over the place from my daughter's recent stay and was still happy and grateful! All this had been discussed, but I was still very appreciative of his positive attitude. Garry kept in phone contact and tells me that he and his wife have cleaned the place top to bottom before their departure. I wanted them to have a bottle of wine for their understanding but I don't think that they took up my offer. They were polite and friendly to my neighbours and generally great guests.
We were so lucky to meet Jen, Garry, Mary and Ben. What an inspiration!! We had so much fun the evening we spent together.
Thank you all for remaining us to never stop travelling or being curious about other people and their culture.
We hope to stay in touch and maby meet again sometime.
Thank you for leaving the apartment so tidy and clean.
You will always be welcome to visit again
Love Trudy and Roar
Gary and Jan are very kind people. Left the home tidy (with ironed sheets:). We liked meeting you on video-call and hope you had a great remainder of your trip!
Emma was very helpful in arranging this non-reciprocal globe exchange.. Her house in Sandwich was lovely with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay.. Sandwich is a nice locality very handy to many attractions (Canterbury and the cathedral being one). I would recommend her place to anyone.
Thanks Garry I'm glad we were able to help and thank you for being understanding that our cleaner wasn't available, you left the place gleaming!
My globe exchange with Trudy for a week was very enjoyable.
Trudy was very welcoming and communicative and her apartment was very comfortable with a lovely view of the water. Alesund was a lovely little town/city in a beautiful area of the Norwegian coast/fjords. We had a lovely evening at her own apartment with her and her partner Roar - lovely people!!! would recommend her and the apartment to anyone. thanks Trudy
Rinka's home was very nice and Rinka and Patrick were very helpful and hospitable in assisting us for a non-reciprocal stay at their home in Den Bosch. Bike riding is great in the Netherlands for most local commutes - everyone does it, however a vehicle would be handy for wider exploration (Amsterdam, the Hague, Rotterdam etc). Thanks again for your hospitality.
Ally and Adrien's apartment was very comfortable and convenient for getting in to the centre of Paris as well as having good facilities in the immediate district. It was about 10 minutes on the Metro into The Marais and adjacent popular areas. The hosts were very generous and cooperative in ensuring everything was OK with our stay. Great wifi! I would recommend them as hosts and also as guests at another PLU listing.
I thought I had left this before but Ally and Adrien were very communicative and generous in this exchange. Their apartment is comfortable and very central in Nation about 4 metro stops from Central Paris and 2 from Gare de Lyon with many restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. I strongly recommend this exchange.
