Neighbourhood
Located on a quiet street, get ready to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Sydney. Or the Blue Mountains.
- Sydney City; best option is to catch the train. Drive or Uber to Penrith Train station, there you’ll find free parking. Head to Central Station and you can catch light rail to get around the city, or head on foot. I recommend checking out our amazing city attractions including The Sydney Harbour Bridge (why not take in a Bridge Climb!), The Opera House, The Rocks, Darling Harbour and catch a ferry to Luna Park. To really take in the sights I recommend you head in to Sydney city 3 - 5 days in a row or broken up.
You can also head to Bondi Beach (drive or train) or to Manly via train and Ferry.
- Blue Mountains; this can be taken in via a scenic drive or via train. This time you are heading west into the mountains. You can head to Leura and visit this lovely town’s Main Street with art and craft stores, cafe’s and foodie shops.
Stop at Katoomba and you can visit the Three sisters, take in the mountain rail down the hill or the sky rail across the gorge.
If hiking is your thing, there are some wonderful trails and waterfalls to visit in this wonderland.
- South Coast Scenic Drive; you can head to the Southern Highlands and visit some quant towns including Bowral, here you can shop in some boutiques and eat to your hearts desire at the wonderful cafes and foodie store. There are also many wineries in this region where you can grab some delicious Australian Wines.
Head to Kiama is summer or winter, lovely view, including its famous ‘blow hole’, boutiques and lunch (fresh fish and chips!!)
There places are endless, and we are happy to assist by mapping out some day adventures.
- Water slides? Raging waters is open over the summer months
- water skiing? Cables waterpark is located 10 minutes drive
- Australian Rugby league? Take in a football game right here in Penrith at our stadium.
Using our home as your base will give you so many options for your daily exploring.
There are fantastic Restaurants and bars to check out right here in Penrith on our glorious Nepean River, which is only 5 mins by car or UBER.
The supermarket is located just around the corner, and only 5 minutes walking distance.
Getting to my home
For both international and interstate travellers fly into Sydney International Airport and Sydney Domestic Airport. Penrith is located 1 hour west of Sydney. Travel here by hire care or you can catch the train directly to Penrith and bus/taxi to our home.
My suggestion is to hire a car as there is so much to explore, you can leave it at home or the train station the days you want to utilise the train into Sydney.
We are looking for exchanges that would accommodate two adults and two teenager boys.
Brendan works in logistics and I am Registered Nurse working in education. We are both Australian and have lived in Sydney all our lives. Our boys are 12 and 15 so we are mainly looking to do simultaneous exchanges during school holidays (Christmas- summer here in Australia, and our winter break in June/July).
We are looking for people who are passionate about traveling and enjoying a comfortable stay whilst exploring wonderful and exciting places xx
