Neighbourhood

My neighborhood is quite residential but has a lot of commerce points nearby and also nature. If you are coming with kids, we have two playgrounds behind our house that have football/basketball/hockey fields (two), a zip-line, climbing and slides. There is a huge dike behind our house that has a tea house that is known for its cakes (Theehuis de Akermolen) and an area where dogs can run loose. There is a windmill (Molen van Sloten) which is in my pictures. Less than 2km, 6 mins by bike. On the same street you’ll find a pony/horse riding spot (Mandy’s pony plezier), a cheese farm (kaasboerderij Sloten), a brewery (brouwerij De 7 Deugden). Right behind that street there are some eateries and the best playground in Amsterdam (Speeltuin Sloten) which is a must visit with kids and also has a cafe. The closeste supermarket is 600meters away (Jumbo) and next to it you’ll find a lot of other stores: pharmacy/drugstore (Etos); bakery; food corners and one of the biggest garden centres in NL (Tuincentrum Osdorp) which usually has a lot of cool exhibitions during Easter/Halloween/Christmas time. There is an enormous commerce centre called Osdorpplein in less than 2.5km away (also reachable by tram). Whatever it is that you’re looking for - you will find it there (asian food market, arcade centre with ramen and japanese pancakes, butchers, Albert Heijn XL, the most typical Dutch chains…)
