General overview

Traditional terraced 4-bed house over 3 floors in a quiet street in Glasgow’s popular southside. Ideal set-up for a young family, with both city and countryside easily accessible.

The space

On the ground floor: living room, dining kitchen, shower room with WC and utility room leading out to south-facing enclosed backyard. On the first floor: large master bedroom, single room, and large kids room with two cotbeds (can be arranged as cots or toddler beds), bathroom with shower over bath. On the second floor: double bedroom. The house is comfortable and well set up for young families with plenty of toys and books, and a small-ish south-facing garden. Our home is on a quiet residential street, only 5 minutes walk to the neighbourhood facilities and shops, and transport links.

Guest access

The house is over 3 floors and unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Notes

On street parking, stair gates fitted on first floor.

Neighbourhood

Mount Florida is a lovely area with a great community, independent businesses include cafes and takeaways, bookshop, florist, zero-waste shop, second-hand children’s goods, guitar shop, yoga studio, as well as Tesco Express, Greggs etc. We are a stone’s throw from Hampden Stadium (Scotland's national stadium) - why not pop along for a game? - though we rarely hear noise or disturbance if there’s a game on. We are 15 minutes to the Battlefield area, where you will find more local amenities, and close to the Shawlands, Strathbungo and Govanhill neighbourhoods which all have plenty to offer. We are also close to some of Glasgow’s most beautiful parks - Linn Park, King’s Park and Queen’s Park, as well as a small local park - Homlea, which has a kids playground, outdoor gym etc. 15 minutes drive away/30 mins via public transport is the newly renovated Burrell Collection situated in Pollok Country Park, along with Pollok House. Glasgow has a number of world class museums, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment such as concerts, theatre and cinemas. Further afield, you can drive to Loch Lomond, the seaside, Edinburgh and Stirling all within an hour.

Nearest airport

Glasgow airport - 8 miles

Getting around

We are under 10 minutes walk to two local train stations, Mount Florida and King’s Park, from which you can reach the city centre in about 12 minutes. There are also a number of buses.
