We are a Canadian family who stayed in Marie and Victorien's house in the summer of 2023. We were absolutely delighted by this exchange.
Marie and Victorien are friendly and welcoming hosts. Planning the exchange was easy and for us, new to the exchange, they were reassuring.
Their house is big, beautiful and clean, in a district of Hyères where you can do everything on foot. The medieval old town (magnificent!) is just a few minutes walk away. The house is great for exploring the French Riviera and Provence. A region that is superb with its many beaches, palm trees and tall Aleppo pines.
The town of Hyères is a little off the tourist circuit so that we are not overwhelmed by mass tourism. So you can really get a glimpse of what life can be like in this region. Its evening atmosphere with its markets, restaurants and musicians is simply extraordinary! In addition, it is close to several other very interesting places to explore, such as Marseille, Cassis, the Calanques, Nice, and several other small towns and villages around. It's a place to visit!
