Neighbourhood
The house is located just between the villages of Schoorl and Warmenhuizen, surrounded by farmland and tulip fields (mid-April-mid-May). 20 minutes by bike from the beach, 13 minutes by car (other beach, the nearest beach is only accessible by bike). 45 minutes by car to Amsterdam. In a few minutes you will arrive in the beautiful Schoorlse Duinen nature reserve, a fairly wild dune area with the highest dunes in the country: 55m. Please note: in the Schoorlse Duinen there is a fairly well-known mountain bike route.
The park I live in is quiet, very safe and friendly. Free parking.
The picture of the black wooden building in the forest is the most beautiful cinema in our country (we think): Cinebergen.
Nearest airport
Schiphol (Amsterdam) Airport is only a 40-metre drive away. Public transport in the Netherlands is very good.
Getting Around
Best to have/rent a car. If you are here I recommend renting a bike, or taking them with you in the car. It's the best way to explore the pretty old villages around and the Schoorlse Duinen National Park.
Day trips to beautiful 17th century smaller towns such as Alkmaar, Haarlem and the various former fishing villages on the lake / former IJsselmeer such as Medemblik, Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Volendam and Marken are very nice.

I would like to meet other PLU-ers to share travel stories, to give tips about the place and surroundings they are visiting, to have a coffee or something.
