Neighbourhood

The house is situated just between the villages Schoorl and Warmenhuizen, surrounded by farmland and tulip fields (half April-half May). 20 mn on bike from the beach, 13 mn by car (other beach, the closest one is only reachable by bike). 45 mn car minutes to Amsterdam. In a few minutes you enter the beautiful nature reserve Schoorlse Duinen, a rather wild dune area with the highest dunes of the country: 55m. The park in which I live is quiet, very safe and friendly. Free parking. The picture of the black wooden building in the woods is the most wonderful cinema of our country (we think): Cinebergen.

Nearest airport

Schiphol (Amsterdam) Airport is only a 40 m drive. Public transport in the Netherlands is very good.

Getting around

Best to have / rent a car. When you are here I advise to rent a bike, or take them with you on the car. It is the best way to explore the beautiful old villages around and the National Park Schoorlse Duinen. Daytrips to beautiful 17e century small cities like Alkmaar, Haarlem and the diverse former fisherman's villages on the lake / former sea IJsselmeer like Medemblik, Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Volendam and Marken are very nice.
