General Overview
Fabulous location in one of Melbourne's best areas. Upmarket Armadale with fabulous shops, cafes, and public transport nearby. Very close to the city centre and an excellent base for exploring Melbourne and the rest of Victoria.
Just renovated, lovely 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home very close to all that Melbourne has to offer. Our home has a large open living and dining area overlooking the back terrace with a barbeque and a new designer kitchen with marble tops and all new appliances.
The master bedroom is a very large, beautiful bedroom with a large king size bed, fireplace, separate dressing room and brand new bathroom.
The second bedroom also has a large king size bed with fireplace and storage, the third bedroom is upstairs with its own bathroom. There is also a separate study upstairs. The upstairs bedroom/bathroom/study is also available for hospitality at other times that we are home. The third bathroom is downstairs and has a bath.
Heating and air conditioning, WIFI, off street car parking plus permit for street parking. The location is perfect with the train, tram and bus within a 2 minute walk. Just a short train ride to the city or take a tram to many other great parts of Melbourne. All the shopping, restaurants, cafes etc are located just at the end of the street. The perfect base for visiting Melbourne and Victoria.

Neighbourhood
Picturesque and leafy, one of Melbourne's most upmarket suburbs just south-east of the city. Armadale’s convenient and attractive location makes it a popular choice with all transport options and close to the Melbourne city, Bayside and all the trendy parts of Melbourne. But it’s also a very established suburb and you’ll find many long-time locals living here too, either as a family or as empty nesters. You’ll find Armadale just 7kms south-east of the city, sitting between the equally prestigious suburbs of Toorak and Malvern. High Street is an undulating strip of cafes, boutiques, galleries and rug stores, while Glenferrie Road is a little more casual. Off the main roads you’ll find lush green residential streets, beautiful houses and highly sought-after private schools. Public transport is on the doorstep with train, bus and trams. Just a short train ride to the city or take the tram to see the sights of the city, St Kilda beach or nearby Chapel street, Prahran.
Getting Around
Shops and transport including train, trams and buses all within a couple of minutes walk
Kathryn's home in the leafy suburb of Armadale is absolutely wonderful. The first day we walked to the high street for coffee (maybe a 3-4 minute walk). We walked over the train station ( where you can get a train to the CBD in minutes) and through a beautiful 19th century shopping arcade lined with bistro tables and lovely shops. I said, "this feels like Paris.” We stopped a block away at a cafe for breakfast. Sitting there eating on a sidewalk table Scott said, “This reminds me of my old neighborhood in San Francisco.” The local shops were amazing. Everything from high end local fashion to ethnic restaurants. If you aren’t inclined to explore an excellent coffee shop is 50m from Kathryn’s front door.. This is a long way of saying that her neighborhood is a treat if you don't know this already.
Her home is lovely, and peaceful with beautiful art, a chefs kitchen and comfortable beds. We had a car but you would not need one to access Melbourne as there is a Train line and a tram line nearby. We wished we had more time to explore Melbobut the great ocean road was calling so we hope to return one day.
I’m sorry we couldn’t meet Kathryn, but perhaps we can when she visits us. She welcomed us with local wine and farm fresh eggs that we had for breakfast. You will be very fortunate if you have the opportunity to stay in this lovely home and enjoy Melbourne.
Kathryn's home in Armadale is FABULOUS! Everything is luxurious! We love the combination of traditional and contemporary styles, and especially love her art pieces! Kathryn was excellent at communication, including helping us find the closest HERTZ rental for a one day trip to the Yarra Valley for wines. This home is very close to the train station, so you can easily get on the train and get into downtown Melbourne.... but honestly, there's so much you can walk to in Armadale, you may not even need to go into the bigger city! Definitely recommend this home if you're coming to the Melbourne area.... you won't regret it!
Kathryn wasn’t able to make it to our home so we hosted her daughter and son-in-law who live in the Bay Area. Isabella was a great communicator and left our home in perfect shape. She also left us some lovely thank you treats. We would recommend Kathryn - and her daughter- as guests, and we hope to meet them in person one day
.
Stephanie and Scott were wonderful hosts and kindly welcomed my daughter and son in-law for an exchange. They helped them with their questions and local recommendations.
“Their home is absolutely beautiful. The view of the valley is spectacular, the pool is the perfect place to relax and it is closely located to fantastic wineries and golf courses. We loved our stay. “
Thank you Stephanie and Scott for a wonderful exchange.
Stephanie and Scott were ideal guests. Communication was easy, and our home left perfectly. Thank you for leaving the wine and gift. Much appreciated. Enjoy your travels.
It was a pleasure to host Judy and Larry. Unfortunately we didn’t meet but all went very well. Our home was left beautifully and we appreciated the lovely bottle of wine. Hopefully we will meet one day.
