Our house is a semi-detached house with a spacious garden in Hamburg-Curslack. Curslack belongs the the Vier- und Marschlande, a very lovely region of Hamburg. There are several nice farm houses with typical thatched roofs. It’s one of the largest regions for fruits, vegetables and flowers. Behind our ground there is the small river Dove Elbe. We have a canoe for 3 persons and two SUP Boards. We have prepared a guest book (German/English) full of advices what to do in the region and in Hamburg.
The space
On the ground floor there are a combined living- and dinning room, a well equipped kitchen and a guest WC with a shower. On the first floor you can use a parents room with a double bed (180x200), Linos room (90x200) and a study with a bed (160x200) for 1-2 persons. We have renovated the bath room with shower and bathtub in 2021.
Guest access
There are four floors with a lot of stairs. We have two carports…one for the car and one for our 5 bikes which you can use.
Notes
We have a lovely tomcat named Krümel, he only needs some food from you. In our garden lives our cock with his 6 funny chicks. It would be kind when you take care for them (not so much work) … therefore you can enjoy fresh eggs every day.

Stefani was a great guest. She contacted us when she first arrived in NZ and we met for lunch before she went touring the country. Then when she arrived back in Christchurch with her son Lino we had a relaxing and informal dinner together. By the time they left we felt we had new friends to meet up with again at some later stage. They left our house scrupulously clean and tidy. They would be welcome back anytime.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review!😊
What a delight it was to have Steffi stay with us for a few days! She is such an easy going, friendly person .i was so glad that we met her at a Sydney PLU meetup and invited her to stay with us. I hope we remain in touch and maybe see her again in Melbourne. After only a few days I feel I have a new friend . Happy travels Steffi .
Steffi was a delightful guest to host and we had a lovely few days together. She was enthusiastic about exploring the local area and really made the most of her time here in the Huon Valley. We enjoyed catching up over a good meal at the end of the day to hear about her adventures and have also learnt a lot about her community and home land. She left the Tiny House in an immaculate condition and we absolutely recommend her as a future guest. Steffi arrived as a stranger and left as a friend, as so often seems to happen with PLU exchanges! We look forward to one day meeting again and maybe this time in Hamburg!
Stefani was a wonderful guest
Hope you continue to enjoy your travels around Australia
Steffi was an ideal PLU guest. She showed super communication responsiveness, good humour and genuine kindness. Her travels before and after her stay in the studio were testament to how outgoing, organised and intrepid a traveller she is! Despite the inclement weather in Bondi Steffi hiked, biked and explored the local area. She treated the studio like her own and left it spotless. Thanks Steffi : )
Stefani and Bastion were wonderful guests in our home. They were extremely friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them several times during their visit. We had absolutely no problems with communication, their care of our home, or anything else. Hopefully we have a chance to see them again in the future, perhaps at their home in Germany, or even on another trip!
Deb and Neville are so pleasant and kind people! They offered us their second, brand new renovated house for a whole week for a hospitality stay. We enjoyed every minute! The house is so spacious, clean and comfortable. It’s situated only a few steps from the beach (where we had long walks) and the shopping area in New Brighton. The garden with all the beautiful flowers was really inviting. We met Deb and Neville for lunch and for dinner. It was a pleasure and we didn’t notice the time running away. First we met as strangers and ended up as friends. We hope to meet you again…perhaps in Hamburg! Thanks for your kindness and hospitality!
I met Irene and Paul a few days before Christmas in Sydney! That was a happy coincidence! They invited me to stay with them together as a guest in their lovely flat full of arts.. So Melbourne became one of my favourites cities. We had so much fun together (especially with an Irene). She showed me the best shopping malls, really good food hawkers and we visited the museum and a music concert together. I had the best time and both of them now are new friends of me! I hope I will meet them in future again. Perhaps we could try some German wines when you are on the way around in Europe? Thank you for hosting me - one of my best experiences!
It was our pleasure 💕
After just ten minutes it was clear that we will become friends! Caroline and Don welcomed me so heartily and open minded. They invited me for the first evening to their dinner and we had such a nice conversation …so we repeated it every evening of my stay!🤗 They gave me so many recommendations what to see in Tasmania. The Tiny House is really lovely, lightly, well equipped and super clean. I enjoyed the views over the countryside and the bay. It’s an absolute amazing place of the world. I hope to come back in future…but first Caroline and Don have to visit us in Hamburg. You are always welcome in our house to give back to you what you did for me! Thank you so much!
Terri is a perfect host!!! She picked me up at the airport when I arrived. From the first moment we had a really good talk. Terri prepared a sunny room with a comfy bed for me. Every day she helped me to plan my day. On the last day she invited me to a trip to Hahndorf. I had so much fun! Thanks, Terri…for your great hospitality! I hope you will visit us in Hamburg in future!
I had a really nice time in Sally and Dave’s flat! Communication with Sally was so easy from the first second. There was a welcome surprise and two helpful guidebooks for the flat and for the Bondi region. The flat is very clean and comfortable with a lot of details. In the evening I liked to enjoy a glass of wine in my private rooftop bar on the balcony. I felt like at home! So many thanks for hosting me! Happy New Year!🎉
We had a really nice time in Katies spacious house in the Dominican Republic. We loved the view while sitting on the porch. It’s a quiet area with friendly neighbours around. The communication with Katie was very easy before and during the exchange, she gave us very helpful recommendations…so we tried every restaurant and every beach. Thanks for hosting us!
Back home we were a little bit shocked. We never arrived and find our home in such a bad condition. We thought the family used it more than an AirBnB without paying attention to our instructions. The kitchen and the the bathrooms were dirty; they haven‘t cleaned anything. We needed two days that we feel well again in our house. So sorry that I have to write this. Perhaps we have different attitudes about cleanliness. Only our cat was feeling very good because they took good care for him.
Thanks a lot for this great hospitality exchange! We have already done several simultaneous exchanges but it was our first hospitality swap. It was a great experience. Julie welcomed us very friendly and showed us the spacious and clean flat. She gave us very good recommendations for trips and restaurants. After the long flight we were so happy about the prepared lasagne in the fridge. We always will remember the evenings that we spent together with the family…so many thanks to all of you! We hope to meet you again in Germany!
