General overview
Our home is large and spacious with a sizable front and back yard. We have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, plus a basement that is used as a guest room.
Our kitchen is large and open with granite countertops, which connects to the dining room. The dining room connects to the top porch where we eat almost all of our meals. One of our favorite things to do is to sit in front of the fireplace in the living room, reading books or playing board games. We have a full children's playroom with toys for all age levels and abilities. The children's room is a quiet sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house. The Master bedroom has a large closet and an attached bathroom- with a separate bath and shower. The bath is big enough for two adults to comfortable sit and drink a glass and wine together.
Our basement serves as guest room, office, and TV room. It has a door outside and a bathroom itself, so it can be used as a guest suite when needed.
The garage has plenty of storage and parking space. The backyard has two small playsets and a fire ring. We also like to walk through the copse of trees in the back and listen to the birds singing. We play on bikes and chalk in the front yard. When the weather is hot, we cool off with our small baby pool for wading, or our larger inflatable pool that is just right to splash around in.
**We are still working on getting pictures of all the rooms because we are painting! I'll be happy to give you a virtual tour once we connect**
The space
Kitchen- all the amenities including large double sink, refrigerator, freezer, ice maker, water dispenser, microwave, oven, coffee maker, instant pot, electric mixer, and all necessary cookware.
Patio- Patio table with 4 patio chairs, with plenty of folding chairs that can be added as needed.
Dining room- Beautiful wooden table with 4 chairs. We have many folding chairs to add to the table if your group is larger. We have a high chair and booster seat for infants/ young children.
Living room- Cozy fireplace, perfect for sitting and reading a book and playing games. Plenty of books and board games, comfy couch, and comfy blankets.
Hallway bathroom- full bathroom with a full assortment of bath toys for kiddos. We have a toddler potty as well.
Playroom- This room is full of activities for the young, and the young at heart. For the kiddos, there is a full play kitchen and playhouse, along with plenty of open-ended toys, arts and crafts materials, musical instruments, construction toys (blocks, houses, cars, etc.). For the older kiddos/ adults, there is a full closet of arts and crafts materials like yarn, acrylic paint, canvas, pastels, etc. We also have a large selection of board games and books.
Bedroom 1- This is our daughter's bedroom. It currently has a changing table, dresser, closet, child sized bed, and rocking chair (and of course, books!). We can remove the infant furniture if you won't need it.
Master bedroom- Queen bed, dresser, large closet. Connected to a master bath with two sinks, large soaking tub, and a separate shower.
Downstairs- Currently divided into a living room area with our TV and queen-sized guest bed. The other half is a small office. There is a full bath down here as well.
Yard- We have a decent-sized front and back yard. In the backyard, we have a fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. We also have a small copse of trees that we like to take morning walks through. We also have a playground suitable for kids 10 and under.
Garage- Two car garage with outdoor toys, storage space, parking space, strollers, tricyles, and lawn and yard care items
Extras: We have several air mattresses, a bassinet, and 2 pack N plays to accommodate extra guests.
Guest access
Our home has an upper floor and a lower floor with two short staircases.
Notes
We live in an area best known for its outdoor activities. We are minutes away from Lake Lanier (literally a 5-minute drive to the closest beach). So there is boating, fishing, and swimming minutes from our house.
The start of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain is less than an hour away. We are less than an hour from 5 different state parks such as Don Carter, Amicalola, Vogel, Unicoi, Smithgall, and several other smaller ones. There is Tubing, Kayaking, and Ziplining less than 20 minutes away. We are 20 minutes from Dahlonega, where several Hallmark movies have been filmed because it is so cute!
We offer our camping and hiking gear to our guests so that they can enjoy the amazing North Georgia mountains, lake, and rivers that surround us.
Atlanta is 1 hour away, so you are never too far from big city life. You can find amazing restaurants and fine dining, cultural activities, museums, concerts, and basically anything else you wish. And the best part is that at the end of the day you can drive home and escape the busy city life and relax surrounded by trees in a private home. And then still return back the next to finish exploring!
So we are perfectly situated in the middle, halfway to big city Atlanta, and halfway to the mountains. So you get the best of both worlds when you come to visit.

Rachel
We are an international family. Rachel is originally from Indiana, USA, and Fran is from Madrid, Spain. We have a 4-year-old daughter and an Australian Cattle dog named Charlie. We love traveling and regularly travel to Europe to visit with Fran's family. We also love traveling around the US and exploring new places. When we are home, Fran works as a Professor of Physics at the nearby University, and Rachel works as a nurse in the local hospital. We love to hike, camp, play on Lake Lanier. We love spending our time at home having fires in the backyard or in the fireplace and reading and playing games together. We love our home and hope you will too!
