Neighbourhood
The neighborhood is very friendly. We are located two blocks from downtown which is just close enough to walk to everything but far enough away that you will not have to worry about people parking on the street. You can expect to fit 2-4 cars directly in front of the house on the street. We are located near the corner of the street and there is always plenty of parking.
Chesterton is rated in the top safest cities in Indiana!
PLEASE NOTE: Chesterton, IN is very well known for its trains. They get over 55 trains passing through every day. We are located two blocks from the train tracks, which means there can be railroad noise. In 2021, the city passed a new law that requires trains to be quiet (not blow their horn) during quiet hours, HOWEVER, it is a new law and there are a few trains that will still sound off during the night. We have 3 white noise machines that are available if you have a light sleeper.

Chicago will be the closest international airport (55 minutes).
Getting around
All of downtown is less than a 4 minute walk! You will require a car to get to the Beach and Park which is located about 4 minutes away. You can take a train to Chicago if you wish. The train station is located 3 minutes away. If you wish to come without a car, there are plenty of Uber and Lyft cars available to get around.

Hello PLU Community! I am an Air Force Veteran who loves to travel! I have my MBA and Project Management Masters. Currently, I work remotely for a small company that was award the GHC from the US Dept of Transportation and we assist military members and DoD civilians with their PCS (moves). I am also a travel agent and absolutely love to plan travel and see the world! My husband works as an automotive software consultant. My family includes myself, my husband, and our 7-year old son. We occasionally travel with my mom and step-dad too. We both work remotely and love to see new places! We are open to so many locations but we also love to explore everything locally. My husband and I are always down for a romantic tropical vacation too!
