General overview
My house began as a small wooden bungalow with two bedrooms and one bath built in the forties. Currently I have the one bedroom decorated as my home office with desktop computer, copy scanner fax machine etc. I have added a great room with a big kitchen, another bath and living area. I love being outdoors but mosquitos are bad here. So I built two screened porches. I also have a studio in the backyard with a queen bed and it’s own bath and kitchen. My style is Old Florida. The pictures are random from my photo library. I will take pics and post but wanted to get this site up and running. I hope you get the feel. I don’t have a pool. I do have an amazing tropical garden.
The space
I live in a neighborhood in the north end of West Palm Beach called Northwood Shores. I am a block from the inter coastal and as a crow flies about a half mile from the ocean. If the waves are pounding I can hear them at night from my bedroom. My neighborhood is one of the oldest settlements in WPB. It was originally called the Village of Mangonia. A horticulture professor settled this area and developed the first grafted mango tree in the US. I have four large mango trees dropping mangos in my yard late spring, early summer. I am a 2.5 mile walk or bike ride along the water to downtown WPB and the North bridge to glamorous Palm Beach. I am propagating native plants and my backyard is part plant nursery. In the front I have a butterfly garden and have host plants for four types of butterflies and a large number of nectar plants. My yard is the opposite of manicured. I call it my beautiful mess.

One story with two steps up to my front stoop. There are winding brick paver walkways all over my property. But they are not smooth and I wouldn’t want someone using a walker or cane because it might be treacherous for them.
My studio is available for nonsimultaneous exchanges. My main house only available if i am not here. I didn’t blackout any dates because i could make a plan any time.
Notes
I have two puppies. One is a large beautiful black lab and the other is a small part dachshund. Right now they are 11 months and four months. i would take them and drive if in the US on the east coast. I want to go to the UK and am interested in swapping with experienced dog owners. I grew up on a farm and love horses dogs ducks goats sheep chickens bunnies. I am more a dog and bird person than a cat person but have had kitties growing up.

Neighbourhood
My neighborhood has a cool restaurant and shopping district called Northwood Village with all sorts of eclectic shops and ethnic restaurants. It is a great neighborhood for long dog walks and everyone is very friendly. During the winter it is a beautiful walk to the Saturday AM Green Market which was voted number one in the country. Once downtown there are numerous restaurants and shops and a beautiful waterfront with free concerts and events. A short walk from downtown there is another area called Rosemary Square with movies, Anthropology, Starbucks, more shops and a big public space. There is a free trolley that connects the north end ( where I live) to downtown and Rosemary Square. The beach is a nice bike ride over the bridge to Palm Beach. The city of WPB is a midsize very happening city. I am a half hour north of Boca Raton, about 45 minutes north of Fort Lauderdale and about an hour and fifteen from Miami.
Getting to my home
You could fly right into Palm Beach International (PBI) or Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Tri-Rail is a train that runs from Miami to WPB. There is also a high speed train called the Bright Line. Both have connections to the airports. PBI is a $7 Uber fare.
If driving to South Florida I am located between the Palm Beach Lakes and 45 th Street exits.

PBI about five miles away.
Getting around
Walk, ride bikes, uber so you can drink, drive, bus (not used a lot), Tri-Rail, Brightline.
