General overview

We have a very nice family home in Tampere, Southern Finland. Comfortable for 3-4, can also accomodate 5. The kitchen and bathroom have been recently renovated.

The space

The apartment is on the top floor of a four-storey house. We have three bedrooms; one double, one queen size and one single. There is also a spare mattress if needed. The kitchen is just being renowated in 05/22 so no pictures of it just yet but it will be fabulous. One bathroom with shower and a tub. The apartment is rather cozy as it is 70sqm but it is very nicely decorated and I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay. There is no lift, so maybe not suitable for very small children. We have a huge park just outside with plenty of space to enjoy outdoors and for kids to play.

Stairs, no lift.

Notes

Our home is comfotable for friends or families to stay. There is good connections to town centre, the tram and bus stop is just a minutes walk away and it takes you into to town centre in about 4 minutes, or you can walk there in 10-15 mins.

Neighbourhood

A very safe, family friendly neighbourhood. There is a small corner shop very close and also a 24/7 supermarket a ten minute walk away. Lot’s of parks, cafes and restaurants close by.

Getting to my home

You can fly to Tampere-Pirkkala, then get a bus or a taxi to town centre. Or fly to Helsinki and get a train (1hr 15 mins) to Tampere.

Nearest airport

Tampere-Pirkkala airport about 15 minutes drive. Helsinki airport 75 minutes by train.

Getting around

The buses and the tram are just a two minute-walk from our door. There’s a shop for groceries very close by. The central railway station is a 15 minute walk away, or about 5 minutes by public transport.

Paula

Me and my two children. I also often travel with a friend. I have lived in a few different countries around Europe, now settled back in my native Finland at least until my kids 11 and 13, are grown up and have flown the nest. I have done a couple of successful exchanges through other similar sites and always prefer a home to a hotel. We don't have pets but don't mind looking after a small dog or a cat.
