General overview

***map is not correct**. We have just built a new home on a new street and our address is unable to be recognized yet! Our new home is located a half hour outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia's capital city in a quiet 55+ neighbourhood. We are fortunate to live close to nature for hiking, biking and forest walks; and yet close to the city with all it offers. You will enjoy our 3 season sunroom for morning coffee. Or perhaps an evening looking at the stars. We have built a one level, wheelchair friendly, allergy friendly home. Our two bedroom home, with a Tempurpedic queen bed in the master, with ensuite. Queen bed in the second bedroom with an adjacent full bath. It would be suitable for maximum 4 person exchange. The kitchen, with quartz countertop is a “cook’s kitchen”. Our open design allows full view of the apple orchard out our back door and pond behind from kitchen, dining and living rooms. High blueberry bushes are ready for picking in July/August. Beyond the 3 season sun room is a newly completed ground level deck. Great for BBQ's on the Weber grill and the screened in sun room with comfy chairs makes evenings enjoyable. ** 8th Annual Garlic festival** September 17th.

The space

Our large living room is designed for sitting and viewing the outdoors. Open to the dining a d kitchen areas. A TV room/den for later in the day with nearby guest queen bedroom and full bath is down the hall & around the corner. The design provides privacy for the second Bed/bath from the main living areas and master. Off the living area is the master queen bedroom; spacious with a tiled walk in shower. Covered front porch is a great spot for sipping late day glass of wine and sunset.

Guest access

Paved driveway with concrete walkway. All one level. 36” doors in each space.

Notes

We live in a very quiet neighbourhood. No vehicle noise. All neighbourhood dogs are on leash.

Neighbourhood

Garland’s Crossing is a small village 5 minutes from the town of Windsor which is the Gateway to the Annapolis Valley region of NS. Windsor has everything you need for groceries, wine, etc. A small town; Windsor has a vibrant downtown with a wine bar, popular pub with live music, and soon to open distillery. An Italian restaurant known for its wonderful meals and fab desserts, all located on Lake Pizaquid’s waterfront area. Halifax is 20-30 minutes in the opposite direction with plenty of sightseeing, historical sites & museums, Pier 21 immigration site, harbour tours, larger shopping areas.

Getting to my home

YHZ (Halifax) is the closest international airport, approx 40 minute drive. There is no public transit so a car would be necessary. Nova Scotia has little traffic on the roads compared to larger Canadian, US and European centres.
