We were delighted to have Annie and her son Evan as guests in our home for 12 days and were lucky enough to spend an evening with them before we headed away on our holiday.
They were the perfect guests - excellent communication from start to finish regrding the exchange, very friendly, extremely well travelled and delightful to chat with and they left our house spotlessly clean and tidy.
I thoroughly recommend them to the PLU exchange community - you will be very lucky if they choose to stay at your home!
Thank you so much Annie. It was so nice getting to know you and Richard. Your home was so comfortable and so conveniently located to so many extraordinary experience in north island New Zealand. We truly loved our time. Thanks for the great communication as well. We look forward to hosting you in upstate NY.
Annie was our first exchange and a delight to deal with.
Thank you so much Valmae. Your condo was wonderful and our communication was easy and super effective. Thanks for the last minute accommodation!
Annie and Evan are simply-speaking great guests. We spent a couple of days together sharing the space, and it was FUN (a lot of talks). When we left, the house was also very well cared of. When we came back, it was spotlessly cleaned, like if there was nobody there. We would highly recommend exchanging with them if you have a chance. And we became Friends, btw :-)
Awe, thanks Mateusz and Magda! We are so happy to have meet you all and look forward to spending some time together again in June.
I had the great pleasure of having Annie, her son Ethan and a friend staying in my home on a non-sim exchange while I was away to Australia on some other non-sim exchanges.
From the initial contact, Annie has been an absolute delight to communicate with. As our exchange was finalized in fine time before taking place, we had plenty of time to chat beforehand, getting details sorted etc.
They stayed in my home for 3 weeks, while I’m away for four weeks.
The dogs were staying with friends, but Annie was taking care of my cats, of which she did a more than excellent job, so thank you for your effort, patience and spoiling them 😻
My home was beautifully taken care of and Annie even threw in an extra cleaning, as I suddenly had to have someone come assess my home, which wasnt planned for and I felt bad for having to inform her about this.
Annie took the news with grace and made sure my home was ready for “inspection” - Thank you ever do much!
We kept in touch frequently and was following each others travels via Facebook and I was thrilled to see that they did get to explore Denmark and went to some great spots and even made it to Sweden for a weekend 😊
They left my home in immaculate condition and made sure all the furry critters were happy and settled.
So, I can only recommend you all tomexchange with Annie If the get the chance, she’s a great exchanger and a very experienced traveller.
I cant wait till I can start planning my trip to her home in The Adirondacks and I hope we get to meet IRL eventually 🙏
We can’t wait to host you:-) We had a wonderful time in your home with your cat family and visiting amazing Denmark and southern Sweden. Also enjoyed meeting your wonderful son. He was very helpful!
Annie visited us with son and friend. They were so lovely and friendly.
We didn't get much time to interact, but Annie was so positive with everything. They came with rental care and had their plans set, so they got around to explore every thing
Thanks so much for visiting Ålesund, and for leaving the apartment so tidy and clean. And thanks for the "cooking gloves" 😘
Thank you so much Trudy. We loved you, your apartment and Alesund 💕 If you come to Upstate NY come stay with us .
Annie was a lovely guest! Great communication and they left the house really clean. It was awesome to be able to meet Annie and we would love to host her again anytime. Highly recommend her as a guest!
Thanks so much Agnes! Can’t wait to see your family and you again some time in the future:-)
Annie was a joy to have as an exchange partner. We were in constant communication prior to the exchange in terms of her arrival and stay in Guanajuato. During the stay we also were in constant contact as she planned her visit and stay during a Worldschooler event held here in Guanajuato. We are both educators so we had a lot in common to share and talk about. She brought two large groups of worldschoolers to Resplandor and they worked directly with the kids on different activities. She also personally volunteered during the last part of her stay. Annie is a kind, thoughtful and considerate person and this was evident throughout her stay with her son. She had some great ideas about how to make the apartment more comfortable and suggestions on how to improve stays for future guests. She is an amazing person with such positive energy. Anyone hosting Annie can be assured of a person who is responsible and will treat your home with tender loving care.
Sasha is super flexible and accommodating. I really appreciate my interactions with her!
Mateusz & Magda were wonderful guests.. They stayed in my main house, which is the top two floors. My teenager and I stayed on our first floor. This was great because we had already built a relationship when we went to stay with them in Poland, so we got to speak many evenings about many interesting topics. I also showed them around one morning around Saratoga State park with all our amazing natural springs. Mateusz and Magda and their daughter Julia felt just like family. The only difference to family is that they insisted on cleaning everything before they went which I told them was not necessary since I was home but they still did. They are wonderful people to get to know and have come stay in your home. They treated my home extremely well, and left everything spotless. I really enjoyed my time with them. I hope to see them again in the future. 100 percent recommend exchanging with them!
Sasha was super easy to communicate with. Came for a long weekend for St. Patrick’s Day. My home was left clean and organized. Can’t wait to visit your home perhaps in the fall!
Annie and Richard are wonderful people. We had some wonderful conversations. Annie is very well traveled and a wealth of information. There home was well equipped with everything needed, comfortable and very clean. It’s also in a great location for so many amazing experiences like thermal baths, hiking and many beaches close by. Our visits to Hobbiton, Rotorua and Taupo were unique and like no other. We had an amazing time. We highly recommend spending time at Annie and Richard’s home and getting to meet them if possible.
Valmae was wonderful at getting us a last minute accommodations and all the information we would need. Her 5th floor condo was wonderful within a great resort and only a few minutes from the beach walking. It’s a typical 2 bedroom condo with your first day basics with no personal items there. It also had a secure garage to park our car. We loved everything about it. Thanks so much Valmae!
Mateusz & Magda were wonderful hosts.. We spent half the week together in the evenings and the second half of the week at the house by ourselves. Mateusz picked us up from the airport with a peoplelikeus sign and helped us get our weekly bus passes. Upon arrival at their home we meet the rest of the family and Magda prepared delicious home made pizza served with lots of polish chocolates. We spoke many evenings about many interesting topics and a wonderful friendship was created.
Their house is located in a suburb outside of Kraków so either public transportation or a car is needed. If using public transportation you will need to walk uphill for 8 minutes. Luckily when getting groceries right by the bus stop, you walk downhill back!
The house is spacious and very comfortable with everything you could need. The bedrooms were big and comfortable. Everything was simple enough to figure out. It was also very safe. We enjoyed our stay tremendously.
Kraków and it’s surrounding areas has so much to do that one week is not enough to experience it all, but if that is what you have, then go for it. Mateusz was wonderful at suggesting the best places to visit and helping me print out stuff, which in the end I don’t think needed printing even though it says must print. It’s an amazing place to visit and explore. I highly recommend Mateusz and Magda and their wonderful home to exchange with!
Agnes and her beautiful family left my home just as they had found it. It looked great. They also left us many wonderful Estonian chocolate treats. We really enjoy calling Agnes and her family friends. Hope to exchange again in the future.
Lone is lovely person that is very easy to communicate with and very kind. She let us stay in here home for 3 weeks which Denmark has a lot to offer and explore. You can even visit southern Sweden which we did for a weekend. Her house is an easy 10 minute walk to the train to Copenhagen which is an extraordinary city with so much to see and explore. She helped us with everything we asked including how to rent bikes to do as the Denmark people do, bike. I can’t wait to meet her in person when she visits us in upstate NY.
Lone’s home has everything you need for a comfortable stay but also comes with her cat family. 5 indoor cats that are very independent except for Zozo who is deaf and wants lots of love when you’re around. Otherwise she sleeps a lot. Lone’s backyard is also the gathering place for all the cats that don’t have a home. She is so wonderful that they all get feed twice a day am and pm. There is over 10 outdoor cats. If not for Lone’s generosity and help from the local shelter, these cats and kittens would be euthanized. So if you plan to stay at Lone’s home you must be fine with cats and the things cats sometimes do and their care. For me it was an adjustment at first but then I loved having the opportunity to be there for all these cats. Lone clearly states must love animals in her profile. So cat hair, litter box cleaning and occasional cat misbehavior does go on. But the love they give you, once they warm up to you, is great.
Lone’s home also has a carport to park your car and one is recommended to see all the area has to over. We had a fantastic time at Lone’s house. Thank you so much for everything Lone:-)
Trudy is the sweetest lady and her apartment is gorgeous. It’s well stocked with everything you could need plus it has the most amazing outdoor views. Plus a washer and dryer. We loved our stay at Trudy’s place. We highly recommend a visit to Ålesund. Thank you Trudy:-)
We loved meeting Agnes and her family and staying at her cottage that is truly in the country but does have a grocery store within 5 min drive. The cottage had everything we needed and was comfortable and cozy. Real country feeling with wonderful outdoor space. Tallin is an amazing city definitely worth visiting. Must have a car to stay at cottage. Ride to Tallin is an easy ride of about 40 mins. Agnes, as a host was amazing. Always answered all questions, great communicator and hosted us to an amazing dinner at her primary home. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for everything!
We stayed in Todd’s 2 double bed bedrooms, lock off apartment with a full bath, living area with a smart TV and desk and mini kitchen and a full balcony. The apartment is in the heart of the historical center of Guanajuato city near the walking central area. It is a steep alley climb with irregular steps to this location. Guanajuato is known for its steep alleyways. The kitchen is fine for breakfast and lunch preparation. The city has so many amazing restaurants right near by. Whenever there was any issues Todd was right on it to get anything needed resolved. He was a great host. In Guanajuato there are many sewer smells due to old plumbing practices. I kept the plug on the shower drain, bathroom door closed and aromatherapy scents in each room and that all worked well. Hot water was very good in apartment which is not always a thing in Guanajuato. We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy apartment within walking distance to everything. The house above the apartment is much larger with two floors and an amazing terrace.
We also participated at Todd’s Resplandor International not for profit outside of town. Todd and his wife Veronica does amazing work with the community children in that area. We were all very inspired by them. They were very generous and inviting to our large worldschooling community that came to do activities with the community children. Todd was so helpful with everything including finding transportation for over 20 sum volunteer participants per visit. It was very rewarding to everyone involved. Thank you so much!
We hope to return to visit Todd’s home and Resplandor International in the future. We felt like family.
Kirsty and her family were a pleasure to have. We would communicate if anything was needed. As they were my first exchange, I had forgotten a few items including remotes and they were so gracious in me getting it to them. They left the place super clean and a beautiful gift and note. They were great guests and I can’t wait to have them here again in the future.
