Neighbourhood

We are in a small country village with amazing walks and a lovely pub. The village Church is just behind our house. There are other pubs within 30-60 minutes walk, which we like to go to, working up an appetite or thirst and then walking off the excesses!

Nearest airport

Bristol airport. around 25-30 minutes away.

Getting Around

There are buses to Bath (you need to change), Wells and Bristol, but you need to get to the Bus Stop (around 30 minutes walk). A previous house sitter did this and loved it, and I travelled with her to and from Wells - so all doable. You can get taxis from a nearby village. Although groceries could be delivered, you may need a car to make the most of your stay.

We moved to Somerset in 2024. Before retiring, we worked for a commercial law firm and top university in London. We have both lived and worked abroad (between us, Africa and France) and love travelling, both in the UK and beyond. Anthony is a guitar and music enthusiast, and Nicky enjoys painting, being in nature and playing gongs. We both enjoy walking, good food and company. We have a wonderful cat, Misty, who is used to having people stay: we've been on Trusted House Sitters, both having sitters and doing sits, for many years, and joined PLU in 2025. We prefer to do a walk through of the house and introduce Misty, so would normally plan to be there for the first evening.
