We spend a little more than a week coming down to Göteborg from Stockholm to find a welcoming family home. It was well stocked and has a practical kitchen with everything you need to cook at home. It has big bedrooms and a cosy living. The garden is in a row facing south with a lovely deck for sunbathing or eating. We loved eating their homegrown tomatoes and salad while watching the rabbits run around closely.
The house is in the suburbs an easy ride by bus, the total travelling is about 35-45 minutes including walking to the bus stop. The public transport is terrific and can even take you to the ferries in the archipelago where we spent two days walking and sailing. Gothenburg itself is quite walkable once you are there and has some interesting museums to explore.
The shopping is based on hyper supermarkets mostly, so for that reason it’s nice to have a car, but it’s doable by bus or bike if you don’t mind going more often. For eating out, I’d say that’s mostly done downtown. As we are more lunch people, that was fine for us.
Thanks Sara and Göte for having us!
