General Overview

Welcome to our little colorful house. This is a main house, a one bedroom apartment owned by a cook and a freelance copywriter. You will find everything you want to cook (we will leave you some Italian recipes).

The Space

There is no washing machine but the landromat is a 5 minute walk from the house.
Our building has a garden, you can use.
We have a dog, he can travel with us or we can leave him with a friend.

San Donato is the closest neighborhood to the center of Bologna (15 minutes on foot). There is a park near the house, some good restaurants and there are many buses to get around.

Getting Around

Bologna is a small city full of life and possibilities. Food, culture but also a lot of nature are here to satisfy you in all ways. It is also in the center of Italy so you can choose to visit Venice (1.30 h); Milan (1 hour); Florence (30 minutes); Rome (2 hours).
Bologna airport is a good connection with southern Italy and other European cities

We spent 1 week in Giulia, Nicola & Timo's house. We had a wonderful time visiting Bologna. We both agree that it is such an underrated city. We had AMAZING food as well. The apartment itself is nice. It's easy to go to the city just taking the bus and the area is perfect if you just want to go for a run. We are looking forward to welcoming them in our home in Lyon !

Wow what a brilliant location you live in with the bus right round the corner and Alizee really enjoyed the pleasant conversations: open minded people who are interested in travel. Nicolas made a great effort speaking English and also speaks a little French so communicating wasn’t so hard. And then there was Timo the super well-behaved dog who came to snuggle at night. Thank you Giulia and Nicolas and we hope to see you somewhere in the world so we can welcome you into our home!

Staying in Giulia's home was an excellent experience. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and Giulia was kind enough to provide us with wine and even a frozen lasagna. Definitely above and beyond! The apartment is in a nice residential neighborhood about 20-30 minutes walking from the city center. We didn't have any trouble finding parking around the apartment, but it is paid. Bologna itself is a charming city and a great central location for exploring Florence, Tuscan countryside, Venice, the Apennine Mountains, and of course, Bologna. You could even make it to Cinque Terre in a day trip if you were very ambitious. Bologna itself was one of our unexpected favorites even though it's not often thought of as a top destination in Italy. We especially enjoyed the food, the architecture, and the local charm.
