General Overview

We live in an ancestral Quebec house built in 1841. It is located in the historic district of Old Lévis, across from Quebec City. It is a house for which we have devoted a lot of work ourselves since 2011 in order to restore it while preserving its charm of yesteryear! 
Our house is cozy, warm and bright. We have a large terrace where you can enjoy your meals while admiring the magnificent century-old trees that populate our neighborhood. Our house offers all the necessary amenities and room to accommodate up to 8 people. 
The house is perfectly located in the heart of Old Lévis. It is an 8-minute walk from the ferry that will take you directly to Old Quebec by crossing the beautiful St. Lawrence River.

Neighbourhood

We live in Old Lévis, the most beautiful neighborhood on the South Shore of Quebec City! Our house is located only a few minutes walk from the ferry where you will find the famous and popular Quai Paquet and its dozens of illuminated water jets. The children love it! It is the ideal place to walk and contemplate the majestic St. Lawrence River. At the same place, you can take the ferry that will take you to the other side of the historic district of Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We could also mention that nearby there is also the bike path along the river, restaurants, a chocolate factory, a delicatessen, cafes and many other things. Our neighborhood is friendly, peaceful and nice to stay in.

We had a really wonderful stay at Virginie & Daniel’s home. The house is so beautiful and calming, and set in the most lovely historic neighborhood. We loved walking down to the park by the river for the kids to play in the sprinklers. Getting on the ferry to Old Quebec City was easy and convenient. This is the longest exchange we have done yet (over 1 week), and we could not have been more pleased. One thing to note that I may have overlooked in the listing is that the 2 bathrooms combined have only 1 toilet and 1 shower. It wasn’t a big deal, but did take require a bit of thought since we had 7 people in our party. This detail would not prohibit me from wanting to stay here again.

We just LOVED staying at Virginie and Daniel’s home in Lévis, Quebec. It is across the river from Old Quebec and the commuter ferry makes getting back and forth a breeze. It was nice to get away from the city but to still be so close. We loved all the space in their wonderful character home. Old Lévis is a really neat place in itself with so many amazing old homes in the neighbourhood. Virginie and Daniel were wonderful hosts and left us with everything we could possibly need. We were very sad to leave. Hopefully, we will make it back here one day! Thank you ❤️

The large Dixon family stayed with us in Lévis for 10 days in exchange for a GLOBE. Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to meet them in person, but the written communication with Colleen was always quick and efficient. When we returned home, we found it tidy, in addition to a small gift and a kind thank you note left for us. We recommend the Nebraska Dixons to the entire PLU community for future home exchanges!

We had a very nice stay in Denise's house in exchange for a GLOBE for 5 nights! A small welcome basket with local products was waiting for us on arrival since our hosts had themselves gone to another country in exchange. The house is located in a very quiet and safe area, at the end of a dead-end driveway, and a beautiful lawned garden borders it behind. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy when we arrived, and we felt right at home. Communication with Denise has always been very easy, fast and cordial. In short, we recommend these experienced exchangers near Rennes. Thank you again for everything!

We had such a lovely stay in Josie's big and bright house, in Lorient! From the great welcome to eat with Neil & Josie to our departure 6 days later, everything was perfect in this exchange with GLOBE. The house on three floors is well equipped and nothing is missing, not even the dryer which we found very practical. We were able to enjoy Josie's beautiful little garden and all the documentation Neil left for us. As a bonus, a grocery store is 30 steps away! Really, we warmly recommend these very friendly hosts who, I hope, will come to visit us one day in Quebec!

We loved everything about Stella and George's attic apartment in Arachova! Small, but very comfortable, with everything you need to feel right at home. Special mention goes to the air conditioning, the new washing machine, and especially the little treats Stella had left for us upon arrival (delicious honey and olive oil, among other things!). We were able to appreciate the charm of Arachova, nestled between the sea and the mountains, offering the best of Greece! All of our hosts' recommendations were excellent, from sightseeing ideas to local restaurants and shops. But what we especially loved about this exchange with GLOBE is that we now have Greek friends with whom we've spent time, shared meals, and enjoyed conversations! For that, we are so grateful! We had a fantastic 3-day PLUTO exchange with Joel & Jan in Sydney! Their apartment in Glebe was incredibly comfortable, spacious, superbly equipped, and even luxurious. Joel had left us some rusks, cheeses and Tim Tams cookies for our late arrival. Everything was there to ensure we had a truly wonderful time, in addition to the stunning city views. The apartment is close to Sydney's New Fish Market, and we were able to easily explore the city on excursions and walks. Communication with Joel was quick and easy. We had a wonderful stay at Carolyn and Andrew's cottage near their home in Reesville, Queensland! Everything was perfect : quiet, comfortable and well equiped ! What a wonderful and extraordinary stay we had at Kelley & Mick's place! A very nice apartment for 2 people, right in the heart of the city centre and really close to everything to discover Melbourne. A vibrant place! Super well equipped with everything you need to cook (yum! yum! the good Vegemite), comfortable bed, air conditioning, large bathroom, washer-dryer, high-tech TV, etc. Beyond the perfect location and the A-1 facilities, what we liked most was Kelley's welcome on our arrival at Central Station which was so warm and friendly, as well as his small welcome gifts which were a real gift from heaven after the loss of our suitcases at the airport... Special mention to the collection of CDs that we listened to every day and that allowed us to discover excellent groups of Australian musicians. We hope to one day welcome Kelley & Mick to our home in Canada with a good bottle! Thank you for everything, once again.

Our exchange partners, Jennifer & Shane & their 4 children, have been amazing! Correspondence with Jen prior to their stay here was cordial, prompt, and fluid. On our return to Lévis, we found our house very clean and tidy, as we had left it. They took care of our home as if it were their own! We had complete confidence in their good care, even though we had never met them in person. We were thrilled to trade with them for a GLOBE, and we hope to one day have the opportunity to meet them "for real" in Vancouver, if luck allows us on a future trip to British Columbia!
