Angelene is an unbelievably gracious host. She had left us so many treats we couldn’t enjoy them all, including a beautiful homemade meal to welcome us after a long, long drive. Her hospitality and warmth is so appreciated. The house itself is absolutely spotless. It’s better than pictured! The home is immaculate and well appointed with anything you might need. In particular, I loved sitting in the sunroom and reading. Glenties is a lovely little hamlet. We had a blast at the Harvest Fair and I enjoyed a whiskey at Thatch. I hope to be able to return, and I look forward to staying in touch with Angelene.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a large comfortable house that allowed us to visit many beautiful places. The exchanges with Angelene and John were pleasant, easy and we were very well received. What a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for your open communication, clarifications when we needed help and hosting us in your beautiful home in Glenties! Your home is beautiful, comfortable and so invit6. The perfect home in the Irish countryside. Surrounded by beautiful places so close to explore! The lovely welcome basket was such a precious touch and you went alive and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and helped us when we were sick with something! I feel terrible that the airline lost my bag and I couldn't leave the Canadian gifts i had brought on my trip. My bag finally reached me in Belfast after almost a week! I'll just have to wait to take good care of you on your visit to us in Ottawa now. :) Thank you once again for being such a gracious host and for truly being a treasure to your guests and your PLU community! I would love to come back some day with my parents as we originally planned.

Angelene and John's home in Glenties was a joy to stay in. It had amble space for 4 couples (all ensuite) and it was a great location to base our explorations of County Donegal. It was a quick walk into Glenties, and Angelene offered great advice on things to do nearby. We met Angelene and her Canadian cousins at 'Dinny’s' pub outside Glenties one evening and she's just as lovely in person. We loved everything about our exchange.

Angelene’s home was beautiful and so welcoming. We had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Glenties is so central to the whole of Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way. Coming home after an eventful day out, we felt cozy, warm and right at home. Moreover, we could have not asked for more wonderful hosts. Angelene´s house is a gem! It is located just a few minutes away from the Wild Atlantic Way, a beautiful and really wild coast with loads of waterfalls, beaches, caves and more gorgeous coastline. And then you have the mountains to explore and secret valleys. We loved to say hello to numerous sheep and very polite and welcoming Irish people. Angelene´s house is big, each bedroom has an en suite bathroom, and there is an extra TV room and an extra play room. Everything was tiptop clean. Angelene and John were easy to communicate with. We never met (this was a globe exchange), but I can highly recommend them for an PLU exchange. Thank you, Angelene and John! P.S.: We thought that we are lucky to have four bathrooms at home ... never before had we come across an exchange house with seven bathrooms.

Angelenes place was absolutely wonderful, and the perfect base for exploring the most beautiful places in the area. Angelene is a fantastic person, who was helpful in so many ways. After an exhausting day of getting lost on the trails of the Giants Causeway, Angeline had dinner and hot tea awaiting us on arrival. We were fortunate to get to know Angeline and find out that our stories have some similarities. Like myself, Angeline has a son with Autism, which some of you may know if you have seen me post in this group before, I am a huge advocate for those in the Autism community. She and I spent much time during our visit just resonating with stories; I could have listened to her stories for hours. She had so much knowledge of the area and gave us so many tips on where to see the best sights in Ireland in her area of Donegal. We had thrown in some American spirit in there by getting sidetracked through a dirt mountain road, but it turned about to be the most beautiful scenery of our drive throughout all of the drive in Ireland. I would recommend anyone traveling to Angeline’s area to reach out to her and share a cup of afternoon tea. We felt so welcomed during our entire stay with Angeline!

This is a must see destination not just for the beauty of Donegal, but for the opportunity to meet Angelene and her family. Angelene welcomed me and my friends with warmth, kindness, and generosity.
