Neighbourhood
Takoma Park is near DC and all it offers, while allowing you to relax in a tree-filled, quiet neighborhood when you get "home." Our place is a mile from the Takoma Park metro stop and the DC border. We are also a block from a strip of stores, including a great bakery and the Takoma Co-op. The co-op has a full array of food, plus wine/beer. The strip also includes Takoma Park's two best restaurants (at least in my opinion) - Cielo Rojo and Seoul Food.
Takoma Park has playgrounds, parks, trails, many local businesses and restaurants, local festivals, interesting home gardens, a farmer's market on Sundays, a history of community activism, and many trees.
Nearest airport
Baltimore-Washington (BWI) or Reagan National (DCA)
Getting Around
We are a block from a bus stop and one mile from a metro station. Take the red line from Takoma Park to downtown DC to see the museums and monuments. The neighborhood itself is extremely walkable (though hilly on most side streets!).
