General Overview

In coveted Pacific Grove, I have a private, backyard guest studio. This studio was formally a chicken coop 🐓 and is now a sweet studio with a king-size bed, double futon couch, kitchen and a bathroom. The large, private courtyard is fenced in and has a trampoline, tether ball post and a fire pit. Well behaved dogs and kids are absolutely welcome! The beach town of Pacific Grove is often described as “America’s Last Hometown.” We are located at the tip of a peninsula between Carmel, Pebble Beach and Monterey. The downtown area of Pacific Grove is in walking distance from my guest studio. The breathtaking coastline and assorted beaches are less than a mile away. The renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium is here as well. It’s a pretty amazing place 🌊

The Space

This studio was formerly a chicken coop. It is now renovated to be a private guest studio. It has a king size bed, a futon couch (suitable for kids), a kitchen and a bathroom. The studio has tons of light and has a very large, fenced-in courtyard. When the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the nearby ocean waves melodically crashing along the coast. 🌊

Guest Access

All one level. Street parking in front of the main house. Access to the guest studio is through a side gate and down a stone walkway. Upon entering the private, courtyard for the studio, you will find outdoor seating in this completely fenced in space. Entrance to the studio is through either one of the two expansive sliding glass doors.

Maria

We are a well traveled, nature loving, and respectful family. Sometimes we travel as a family: a mom with three calm & responsible teens—seriously, they really are great kids! Other times it’s just an adult or two traveling. We have traveled, via renting or home exchanging, for several years. My preference is to integrate into the local community as much as possible and stay away from “tourist” locations. Learning about new communities, languages, and culture are my biggest source of inspiration.
