Neighbourhood
The area is a hot spot for skiing, ski touring, and mountaineering all year round. More than a dozen ski resorts, for beginners and advanced alike, are within a range of 10-30 minutes. The highest mountains of Austria are just around the corner with the Großglockner, Venediger range and so many more. You'll be very near to glaciers or even pass by on your way to the summit. Be sure to take a drive up on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, there try a short trip across the Gamsleiten Trail. Lovely valleys with picturesque landscape, nature reserve 'Hohe Tauern', and gorges are to be explored like Krimmler waterfalls and Sigmund-Thun gorge, just to name the closest ones. Swims and boating on the lake in Zell am See are scenic events by themselves surrounded by the mountains. How wonderful is that?: Ski in the morning and swim in the afternoon! Done that. Two 18-hole Golf courses, Casino, and nightlife. Pamper yourself, visit the Thermal baths and healing springs just 10 min away at Tauern Spa in Kaprun or 25 min away in Gasteinertal (Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein). Cities like Salzburg, Innsbruck and Munich are not far.
Just within 15 minutes of walking you reach a popular toboggan run in winter or the bow park in summer. Directly from the house, you can hike to mountain huts, hop on the bike for the bike trail, go for walks along the river Salzach, or go horseback riding.
