Our Cedar Park home is within a half-hour drive to downtown Austin but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel like you're in the countryside. Austin is known for its amazing music scene/music festivals, such as Austin City Limits (ACL). This October event spans two weekends and brings artists from all over the world! Also held here in October is the Formula One US Grand Prix, for all you racing fans out there! South by Southwest (SXSW) is hosted here in Austin as well, which takes place over two weeks, consisting of film, interactive media, music festivals and conferences in mid-March. These events are world-famous and they bring thousands of people to our city from across the globe. In addition, you'll find smaller venues/great food with nightlife on Sixth Street, Rainey Street, East Sixth (across I-35) and South Congress. Each area has excellent restaurants, pubs, and live-music venues, each with its own charm and character. Enjoy exploring all the city has to offer. And it has a LOT to offer!
The space
Our spacious one-level 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath home is fully equipped with washer, dryer, and full kitchen amenities. The master bedroom has an en suite bath with jacuzzi tub and shower. The guest bedroom is on the other side of the house for full privacy and has a queen size bed, TV, and access to its own full bath. The media room is enclosed and could function as a third bedroom with an air mattress, if need be. We have open office space with a large monitor, internet access and a printer. Just bring your laptop! The media room, master bedroom and living room all have a flatscreen TV with Roku. We also have a Weber grill on the back patio, shaded by large Texas oaks, overlooking our container garden and greenbelt. It feels very private, with no neighbors in view.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is quiet, but so close to everything you'll need. Within a three minute drive you'll have three different coffee houses to choose from, two large grocery stores, two bars, a Gold's gym, several restaurants, and a very large park with great amenities such as tennis courts and a pool. (walking distance from house approx. 15 min.)
Our street is on a greenbelt, so if you feel like a stroll in the woods, just open the back gate for several walking paths that take you past small cave entrances and a dry creek bed. A little farther out (just 12-15 min) is Lake Travis and the famous Oasis Restaurant, with breathtaking sunset views and access to swimming/paddling/boating.
Feel like taking a day trip? There are several Texas wineries/historic small towns/swimming holes/caverns/ hiking trails all within an hour's drive through the famous Texas Hill Country. You truly get the best of both worlds here: City and Countryside!

Getting around
We recommend a car for getting around for the most part. It's true what they say: Everything IS bigger in Texas--including the distances. Public transportation to downtown Austin is easy on the Capitol MetroRail, which connects North Austin with downtown, so you'll need to get to Lakeline Station (10 min. drive approx.4 miles). Whether you are headed to UT or moving between any of the nine stations on the line, MetroRail is a comfy and reliable way to get around. Once downtown, you’ll have Uber, Lyft, taxis, city buses, pedicabs…the public transportation options abound, so you should have no trouble getting around the city.

My husband and I both work remotely now (he's in tech and I teach online), so it gives us more flexibility to get up and go. With this new-found freedom, we would absolutely love to start traveling more often! We've lived in the Austin area for 13 years and we've enjoyed everything this city has to offer! We enjoy traveling the world and look forward to meeting new people.
