General overview
Located on direct bus line to Seattle city center, we are in Shoreline, Seattle's nearest adjacent norther suburb. We are in a top floor (4th) condo in elevator building. Light-filled southwestern corner unit with treetop views and a tiny peek-a-boo view of Mt. Rainier on clear days. Private, quiet building with mix of retirees and younger tenants.
Ample guest parking, and if we take our car, we may also have our private underground parking spot available for use.
The space
We have a 1100 square foot (around 100 square meters) corner unit in a complex of around 90 units. Half of the homes are townhouses and the other 45 are in the 4 story elevator building where we are.
Our home has 3 bedrooms:
Bedroom one is the master with an Eastern King bed, an attached bath with tub and shower and dual vanities.
Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and office space and is across the hall from the second bath which is shared by bedroom 3. This bathroom has a tub/shower and a single vanity.
Bedroom 3 is set up as an office with a pullout bed, and shares the hall bath.
The Kitchen has a modern glass top electric stove and dishwasher and we have a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer.
The living room area has a smart tv set up with cable and integrated to use both netflix and amazon prime accounts. We have a gas fireplace in the living room, a ceiling fan and a south-facing deck with a small bistro table for coffee.
Guest access
The complex is gated but there is one gate open during daylight hours. After hours the gates are opened with a remote that we will supply. Our building is equipped with an intercom system for allowing guests access.
Notes
The building is quiet and has a mixture of retired folks and some younger families and singles. We really want to make sure that any guests are respectful of noise and neighbors.
We do have a pool in the complex that also has a hot tub and sauna in the same clubhouse area. The pool is open from June to mid-September.
We do wear slippers in the house and prefer you do the same. Our unit and deck are non-smoking for both cigarettes and cannabis.

Neighbourhood
We live in a mixed "urban/suburban" area of the greater Seattle area. We are about 20 blocks straight north of the Seattle city limits. The direct bus takes around 35 minutes and if you go downtown by car it is around 20 minutes. We are also about a 10 minute drive (of lyft/uber ride) from the Northgate light rail station that will take you downtown to the Westlake station in 15 minutes.
Getting to my home
Our home is easy to reach by air-coming into either SeaTac or Paine Field (see below.) Otherwise, it is very easy to access by an express bus from downtown and to transfer from a train to the bus.
Nearest airport
SeaTac Airport is the major airport for the Seattle area and is about a 45 minute drive from our home. It is also possible to take the light rail from the airport to downtown and then switch to the express bus that has a stop less than a minute from our house.
Seattle also has a newly opened smaller airport with domestic flights to places like SF and Palm Springs. It is called Paine Field and is about 35 minutes from our home.
Getting around
We love our neighborhood because we can walk to an express bus stop in less than a minute that takes us directly downtown-a trip of about 35 minutes or so.
We are also near our seasonal Farmers Market which runs in the summer time.
Across the street we have a gourmet market called Town & Country and , we also have major supermarkets and a Trader Joe's within less than 10 minutes drive from our house. If you don't drive, then all the markets are available by foot or by using the bus that runs straight up and down the major route next to our complex

People Like Us Local Guide
We would be happy to meet up for a meal. And I would be happy to meet up remotely to help folks trip plan for their visit to our city and surrounding area. And I could also offer either drive around visiting, etc.

My husband and I are "mostly retired" experienced house exchangers and house sitters. We do sometimes work remotely as consultants on special projects in the tech industry. We love meeting new people and learning about new places and cultures.
We travel a fair amount, usually to escape the gray skies in Seattle in the winter. But, in addition, since we are dual US French nationals, our condo is many times free for non-simultaneous exchanges in the spring and sometimes the fall while we are in Europe.
As homeowners ourselves, we take great pride in making sure your home is taken great care of. We are non-smokers. We are happy to take care of indoor plants or other household needs while you are away.
We are both fully vaccinated and have been starting to do a bit of travel since then.
