Neighbourhood

Victoria is the Capital of British Columbia, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island off Canada's Pacific coast. Named for Queen Victoria, the city is one of the oldest in the Pacific Northwest, with British settlement beginning in 1843. The city has retained a large number of its historic buildings, in particular its two most famous landmarks, the Parliament Buildings (finished in 1897 and home of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia) and the Empress hotel (opened in 1908). Known as "The Garden City", Victoria is ranked as the world’s fifth best small city to live in. Victoria is popular with boaters with its rugged shorelines and beaches. Victoria is also popular with retirees, who come to enjoy the temperate and usually snow-free climate of the area as well as the usually relaxed pace of the city. We are a family of 2. My husband and I recently retired and have the flexibility now to explore the world. We are excited about joining this like minded community and we look forward to many new adventures. We typically go on a large trip every couple of years with smaller trips in between. We are open to all forms of home exchanges. 2025 Mexico 2026 South of France and surrounding areas 2027 The Sky is the limit - The canvas is just waiting to be painted. We are open to ideas and opportunities. Our preference would be for longer duration exchanges so that we can immerse ourselves into our host’s culture and community.
