Members write where they want to go in plain language, and the members who could host them are told.

Sydney, Australia, 13 August 2026. A member writes an ordinary sentence in the Community Feed: “Looking for three weeks in Barcelona in September, and we can offer our home in Sydney’s inner west”. People Like Us now tells the members who could actually host them. It runs both ways, so members also hear when someone is looking for a home in their area, whether they posted or not.
The hard part of home exchange has never been finding a home worth wanting; there are thousands. It is being found by the right member at the right moment, the one whose plans fit yours and who would love what you are offering, if only they saw it. Search helps: People Like Us has long let members find who wants to visit their area on their dates. But that can only weigh where and when, not the many other things that make a home and a member a genuine fit, and it still waits for you to go looking. Good matches have been missed simply because two people never crossed paths.
The post is read for place, dates and exchange type, then scored against each member’s calendar, existing bookings and stated destinations. A language model reads the post the way another member would: where, when, and what kind of swap. Members get two streams of notifications, Exchange Opportunities and Posts in Your Areas, and control which of these they receive, by email or in-app.

Matching reads only what a member chooses to post publicly, and works at town or region level. No street address is used or leaves the platform.
