The New PLU Feed is here — and it's ours
A better, more beautiful home for Community conversation — right here on the platform

There's something we've been thinking about for a while now. Something that's been sitting quietly at the back of our minds as the way online communities work — and sometimes don't work — has become harder to ignore.
The best conversations in the PLU Community have always happened between people who share a particular kind of understanding. You don't need to explain why you'd rather live in someone's home for a week than check into a hotel. You don't need to justify leaving your own home in the hands of strangers. The people here already know. That shared understanding is exactly what makes this Community worth protecting.
Which is why we've wanted, for a long time, to bring more of the conversation home.
A Feed worth coming back to
Some of you will remember the first version of the PLU Feed. If you tried it and it didn't quite click, we'd love you to give it another look — because this is a rebuilt-from-the-ground-up relaunch, and it's a different experience entirely.
It's faster, more beautiful, and it actually works the way we always imagined it should. And it comes with some features that make conversation here feel genuinely connected to the rest of your PLU life:
- Gallery photos — show your home the way it deserves to be shown
- Member mentions — bring someone into the conversation directly
- Home profile links — type #1 and it becomes a rich link to your home, with a preview snippet, just like you'd see on Facebook
- Notifications — get alerted when someone replies to your posts
- Meetups — link to a meetup, and the Feed will add a preview snippet

Beyond that, you can use the Feed to list your property so other members can find you more easily, talk through travel plans, share the destinations on your radar, and have real conversations with people who actually get it — without the noise, the algorithms, or the unsettling feeling that the ground beneath your community could shift without warning.
Built for this Community, not for everyone
This isn't a general-purpose social platform that we're borrowing space on. It's being built specifically for home exchange, and specifically for PLU — which means over time it will understand context that no external platform ever could: your home profiles, your exchange history, your wishlists, your communities and meetups, the way you like to travel.
And it's for everyone in our Community. Whether you use Facebook or not, the conversation is here.
More to come
We're still building. The next version will bring better discovery, smarter notifications, and a few things we're not quite ready to share yet. But this relaunch is solid, and we wanted you to have it now rather than wait until everything is perfect.
If you've never tried the Feed, come and say hello. If you have — come back. It's worth a second look. 🏡

Looks quite good! Looking forward to the new enhancements
Going to the link on a laptop gives me a blank screen. Is this only usable on phones?
We've programmed it specifically for mobile screens, but it works on both. It won't work if you're blocking scripts on your phone, though. Start a support conversation and we'll help you work it out.
Yay, this is great news. I would have loved to use the FB PLU site in the past but I definitely didn't trust FB with security and all other of their ethical issues. I trust PLU and will be very happy to be part of the Feed now! Thanks, Drew!
That's really fabulous to hear, thank you, Darci!
Thank you, I wasn’t aware of this feature. But what do you mean by “type #1” do you mean type your listing number and it will bring it up? I have two listings and it only brought up one.
Exactly that. If you type, #9307, it will recognise the format as a PLU profile number and turn it into a link. People have been using that format in Facebook for years but, of course, we don't control FB and can't do anything with it, but we can here! 🙂
👏🏻👏🏻
Well done Drew - it would be great to be less reliant on Facebook
Ditto!
Thanks guys! 😃
Great! I am mostly staying onFB because of PLU, this is really helpful!
Same here ! Good riddance FB ! Perhaps slowly phasing out :-)
Thanks, Maria and Yousra. It's certainly about reducing our reliance on it. As much as possible, I'd like to community discussions inside the platform. It's more secure and we can do so much more with it too. But I also acknowledge that we have improvements to make before it's a true replacement and we'll continue working on that.
Thanks Drew for this super idea. Bienvenue! Welcome PLU members! Who ever you are, where ever and whenever Exchange or hospitality … Come and visit my little corners of France : Champagne and Jura Monique Peubez, a quiet, easygoing PLU member from the beginning
