Apartment in central Amsterdam in the ornamental neighbourhood De Baarsjes, typical for its expressionistic (Amsterdam School) architecture. This apartment is perfect if you want to be in the city but in a not too busy area. Even though we prefer not to have pets in our house, we love (and love to take care of) any pets living in your house!

A new kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, induction cooking set, oven, microwave, coffee machine, milk foamer, tea kettle, fridge, freezer and extractor hood.
We renovated our bathroom in a way that our terrazzo floor really stands out. The bathroom is equipped with a comfortable shower, toilet and sink.
For the diehard espresso lover we have in the living room a Bezzera Strega espresso machine (you may use it *if* you know how to handle this little beast, otherwise use the 'easy' coffee machine in the kitchen). The living room is spacious and overlooks a cozy square with a cafe and terrace.
The bedroom is atmospheric and overlooks our natural garden. We are very happy to have welcomed our first frog! The garden has a small pond and is accessible via the kitchen and the bedroom.
High speed internet available throughout the apartment. We have a Sonos Wifi speaker system that makes it easy to stream music from your own device to our speakers (located in the living room and in the kitchen).

Anmerkungen
We are a member of a community-supported agriculture initiative, so every Thursday a big bag of freshly and eco-friendly veggies are waiting for us to be picked up at a nearby location. During our absence and your stay in our apartment you are more then welcome to pick up the bag in our name and enjoy the typical, often forgotten, Dutch vegetables, free of charge. Please remind us if we forgot to mention it.

Much is within walking and cycling distance from the apartment. Around the corner of our apartment are shops, bars, restaurants, swimming and sports facilities (gyms climbing halls, standup paddleboarding, massage house, yoga, boat renting), parks (close by Erasmuspark and Rembrandtpark, and at 30 min walking / 10 minutes bicycle distance Vondelpark), libraries, churches and mosques. At 5 minutes bicycle distance Food Hallen and cinema's. At 10 min. bicycle distance Sloterplas beach, Anne Frank House and Homo Monument. Most high lights are within 20 minutes by public transport, Rijks Museum, Van Gogh Museum etc. Airport is also close by.

From the airport:
* Uber taxi: 22 euro to our apartment
* Public Transport: take the train to Amsterdam Sloterdijk. From there bus 15 will take you to busstop Mercatorplein. Our house is 4 minutes walking distance from Mercatorplein. Your total travel time will be around half an hour. (Don't hesitate to use apps like Google Maps who may offer quicker options for public transport connections then the one we described above)
From Amsterdam Central Station:
* take Tram 13 to Mercatorplein
* rent a bike at the station for the duration of your stay
By car:
* Take exit 105 De Baarsjes from Highway A10

Stops for public transport around the corner at 1 minute walking distance.
You may use our own bicycles to tour around the city. Amsterdam, with its extended bicycle lane network in and around the city (and country) is a cyclist heaven. On top of that country here is flat. Novice or inexperienced cyclists may find the cycling attitude of fellow road users in Amsterdam a bit intimidating. Cars on the other hand are used to all kinds of cyclists, and will adjust their driving accordingly.
We are open to swap not only our house, but also our car. We have a 5-doors Peugeot 107 with free parking facilities in Amsterdam De Baarsjes.

We are Sjoerd and André. We are both self-employed and therefore flexible with our holidays and spare time. We have been living in Amsterdam (neighbourhood 'De Baarsjes') for 9 years. Recently we have renovated our house and made it completely to our liking. We also made our garden biodiverse and climate neutral.
