We are open to anywhere. However, we are planning an Asia trip to visit Tina's sister in Okinawa, Japan one summer between 2022 - 2024. We would love to exchange in that part of the world before/after our visit with Tina's sister. We are designing and building a larger custom home, hopefully starting sometime in 2022 so availability is uncertain at that time, but it never hurts to ask! Covid is disrupting supply chains and certainly making this process harder! We can sometimes vacate to Tina's parents home nearby if you want to come first. You will love St. Louis! But, don't take my word for it. Read these rave reviews: Forbes - 25 Best US Places to Visit 2020 https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurabegleybloom/2019/12/19/best-places-travel-us-2020/?sh=313997374898 TripSavvy - Best Destinations for Families 2020 https://www.tripsavvy.com/where-to-go-in-2020-4780444 Wall Street Journal - 10 Most Intriguing Travel Destinations 2019 https://www.kmov.com/news/st-louis-leads-the-way-as-missouri-named-top-10-world-travel-destination-for-2019/article_9f0798aa-d93e-11e8-9489-bb00b3840d10.html Come and see the city known as "the gateway to the west". Home to nearly 3 million people, St. Louis is a family friendly town with many free attractions. The city has many French influences. It's evident in the architecture around the city (some of the best in the country). This rich history has provided the city with a wealth of historic buildings and museums, many of which are free to the public. Here are a couple videos that will give you an overview our city: 2 minutes long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsAd1CTlDSo 9.5 minutes long: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD28xPEFEQE&list=PLZjXIQqfsBxn12nH6z_7SAPGgdeUAu0K1&index=2&t=0s Our home was built in 2005 and is located in a safe suburban neighborhood surrounded by forest. The first 2 stories are finished spaces totaling 1686 sq ft/156 sq m. Including our unfinished basement, the total size of our home is 2822 sq ft/262 sq m. Master bedroom is located on the main level and includes an on-suite bath. The other 2 bedrooms, playroom, and second full bath are upstairs. Please note, we do not have a cleaner. We are a shoe-free house and cannot exchange with smokers, even if you are an outside smoker. We are open to car exchanges.

Anmerkungen

There's lots to see and do in St. Louis. Below is a small taste of what the area has to offer: No trip to St. Louis would be complete without a ride up to the arch! One of the best things about St. Louis is that many of the attractions are free. All free - The zoo, Art museum, Science Center, History museum, the Muny outdoor theater (back rows), Purina Farms, World Bird Sanctuary, Grant's Farm, the Magic House (free 3rd Friday of each month). There are tons of fantastic children and adult classes/events offered for free at the local libraries like juggling/magic shows, art classes, yoga, indoor playground, science classes, crafts, and more. The closest library is about 5 minutes away. You will need a car to get around. St. Louis has slow and limited public transportation, very limited in the suburbs. St. Louis International Lambert Airport is 22 minutes from my home. St. Louis Aquarium is a newly built and is located downtown. https://www.stlouisaquarium.com/ Six Flags, a very popular roller coaster & water theme park, is located 20 minutes away. Budweiser offers free tours and you can see the famous Clydesdale horses. Hop on over to Grants Farm (free) to see more Clydesdale horses along with other animals. The City Museum is a one of a kind museum that should be on everyone's list. It looks like something Tim Burton might have dreamed up in a salvage yard while watching The Matrix. It's a cool art infused playground/funhouse of sorts and is great for both children and adults. https://www.citymuseum.org/ Here is a short video of the city museum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awEytBTjbTA Cahokia Mounds - A UNESCO world heritage site, a rarity in the US. It is the largest pre-Columbian civilization north of Mexico and the largest archaeological site in the US. It dates back to 600 AD and is believed to be the first great city of the US, rivaling Paris and London in its time. The on site museum offers guided tours. And the best part? It's all free and only 30 minutes from my home in St. Louis, Missouri. Here is a video about the area: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXQfxIZUtWY The St. Louis Cathedral Basilica was completed in 1914 and boasts a dazzling array of beautiful mosaics. Feels like you're in Europe. Admission is free. Here is a video about the cathedral: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOUxNQJS97k Skiing - Hidden Valley, Missouri's largest ski resort, is just 22 minutes from our home. Canoeing and rafting float trips are popular here. We have several rivers to float in ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours away. Current River is one of our favorites. Cave Scuba Diving - Missouri is known as the cave state. We have a lot (6,400) and they provide some unique cave diving experiences. Bonne Terre cavern and abandoned mine is the most popular and only 1 hour from my home. It houses the largest subterranean lake in the world and even Jacque Cousteau came here to dive. The water is filtered through the limestone walls providing excellent visibility - 100ft/30.5m. National Geographic Adventure named this dive spot one of the top 10 adventures in America. USA Today ranked Bonne Terre as one of the top 10 places to scuba dive in the US. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/7253678002 . The water temperature is the same all year long which makes it popular for winter diving. If you don't scuba dive, they offer a boat ride through the cavern. Here is a video about Bonne Terre: https://youtu.be/pCoAgM8HVU0 and a feature on The Today Show: https://www.today.com/.../must-see-bonne-terre-mines... Meramec Caverns - One of the most famous caves available for tour was used as a hideout by the famous outlaw Jesse James - 45 minutes away. The Magic House - One of the top 10 children's museum in the US according to USA Today: https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-childrens-museum-2021/ DAY & WEEKEND TRIPS BY CAR: Johnson Shut-ins, Elephant Park - 1.25 hours Branson, Ozarks, Table Rock Lake - 3.5 hours Chicago - 4.5 hours

Nachbarschaft

St. Louis suburbs are well developed with many shopping & restaurants nearby. We love being 5 minutes away from one of the most beautiful nature state parks while also being close to city life. Our neighborhood is very safe. We often take family walks at night. There are plenty of parks with playgrounds & walking trails nearby. 4 parks are less than 5 minutes from our home.

Rumkommen

You will need a car to get around. St. Louis has slow and limited public transportation, very limited in the suburbs. St. Louis International Lambert airport (STL), downtown, zoo, and museums are all about a 20-25 minute drive from our home.

People Like Us Lokaler Führer

I have lived in St. Louis for almost 35 years and would be happy to answer any questions you may. I may not always be able to meet up at restaurants as I have a 3 & 5 year old that are not in school yet. However, if you have young children, we are always up for meeting at a playground or zoo.
