Nachbarschaft

We live in a safe, leafy suburban neighborhood. Our subdivision has an outdoor pool (membership or pass required) that is open during summer. There are a few outdoor tennis courts that we have access to. There are a few neighborhood parks with playgrounds within walking distance. From our house, you can access a variety of outdoor activities and cultural events. (I'm building a list of attractions. I'll add to the list when I have time.) 1. Red Rocks Amphitheater (25 miles or 40 km away, 30-minute drive) : (I'm copying some texts from Red Rocks amphitheater Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RedRocksCO/) If you think of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre as just a beautiful place to see a concert, think again! Around you are 738 acres of deer, dinosaurs, pines and prairie, geological wonders and spectacular vistas. At 6,450 feet above sea level, Red Rocks Park is a unique transitional zone where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. The diverse environment allows visitors to see plants, birds and animals of both regions. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world. From Sting and The Beatles, to opera stars and U2, every artist aspires to play on this magical, spiritual and emotional stage. Red Rocks is a geologically formed, open-air amphitheater that is not duplicated anywhere in the world. With Mother Nature as the architect, the design of the amphitheater consists of two, three hundred-foot monoliths (Ship Rock and Creation Rock) that provide acoustic perfection for any performance. The majestic setting of the amphitheater, along with the panoramic view of Denver, makes for a breathtaking scene. 2. Garden of the Gods (57 miles or 91 km, 1 hour drive). The Garden of the Gods park is a National Natural Landmark, having been recognized by the Department of the Interior as "a nationally-significant natural area." It offers towering sandstone formations, a wonderful view of Pikes Peak, paved and unpaved hiking paths, the historic Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, a living history museum, placed on the National Register for Historic Places in 1971, and many other amenities. The park was given to the city of Colorado Springs in 1909 by the children of railroad magnate Charles Elliot Perkins, in fulfillment of his wish that it be kept forever open and free to the public. As a result, this amazing park can be enjoyed free of charge. Some activities and features include guided nature walks, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails, road biking and technical rock climbing. 3. Georgetown (55 miles or 88 km, 1 hour drive): Georgetown is a delightful Victorian village set in a spectacular mountain valley with 200 restored buildings from the 1870s. The main street has shops and restaurants, and many of the old homes have been turned into antique stores. The Georgetown Loop Railroad operates in the summer months with narrow-gauge steam locomotives curling down a mountain ledge, at one point crossing over a 90-foot-high (27 m) trestle.

Mitgliederbeschreibung
We're a family of four. Our beloved Yorkshire Terrier passed away and now we have no pets. My husband, Jeff, is a family law attorney and I'm a university professor working in downtown Denver. Our daughter graduated college and is now working from home and living with us for the time being. Our son is attending college and may be home for school breaks. During school breaks, all four of us may travel together; when my son is at school, then the three of us. We're primarily looking for simultaneous exchanges; we may also consider non-simultaneous exchanges if it fits our travel plans. We're not able to travel in Summer 2021 so we won't be able to do any exchanges for the Summer. I'll update our availability when we can travel.
