Our spacious and comfortable family home is located in a peaceful neighbourhood near the ocean. It’s across from a park and acres of forestlands filled with hiking trails and world renowned mountain biking trails. Beautiful swimming beaches are within walking distance, or just a short drive away. Our home is set on a sunny south facing half acre of private land. You can relax in the quiet of nature, from spring till fall, on a large deck in our backyard garden after a day of adventures.
Downstairs there is a family room and kitchen, a den/office, a laundry room, powder room and a combined living/dining room. Upstairs is a master king bedroom and ensuite with jacuzzi bath, three bedrooms (a queen, a double and two twin beds), a bathroom, and a large bonus/games room with a pool table.
We have games, toys and books for children and adults, two TVs with Cable, Netflix, Prime and Apple, and a DVD set with movies for your family to enjoy.
Two stories with four bedrooms upstairs, I'm very sorry but our home is unsuitable for those with mobility challenges.
Canada's Sunshine Coast is famous for its natural beauty, with miles of coastline where you can explore beaches, lakes and rainforests.
Swimmers, kayakers, mountain bikers, hikers,, cross-country skiers, golfers, photographers, fishers, whale watchers, ocean lovers and all those who enjoy the natural world will appreciate time spent on the Sunshine Coast.
From the north to south coast, there are unique towns and villages to explore with farmers markets, art galleries, shops, playgrounds, restaurants, pubs, breweries, spas and seaside walks.
The Sunshine Coast is a family friendly vacation destination with an abundance of things to do for everyone:
Vancouver is a ferry ride away, so this is a wonderful location for those who wish to take day or overnight trips to the city while enjoying a more rural location to relax.
And If you’d like to see even more of British Columbia while you’re here, a cruise up Princess Louise Inlet, a visit to the unique harbour of Lund, a road trip to Whistler, a Circle tour of Vancouver Island, or a week long cruise to Alaska are all possible with Halfmoon Bay as your home base.

Zu mir nach Hause kommen
From YVR airport in Vancouver, you can easily take an uber/taxi or public transport to Horseshoe Bay in less than an hour, where a 35 minute ferry ride will bring you to the Sunshine Coast. From there, we can arrange for friends to bring you to our home in Halfmoon Bay, although public transit is also available.
Alternatively, a float plane will take you from YVR to the Sunshine Coast in less than thirty minutes, and you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of Vancouver and British Columbia’s southern coastline.
Once you arrive in Halfmoon Bay, my SUV will, upon agreement, be available for use on the Sunshine Coast so that you can shop and explore the many different communities and beaches on the North and South Coasts. Driving is fairly stress-free here on the two lane 101 highway.
Buses and taxis are readily available from Horseshoe Bay, so that you can easily visit the city of Vancouver for day trips whenever you wish.

Patsy and Bill
We're new to PLU, and love the idea of having a home base to explore different countries and communities. I'm a retired teacher, who enjoys paddling on the ocean, and Bill is a retired lineman who enjoys riding and recreating motorcycles. We both love the ocean and we spent many years with our children cruising the southern coast of British Columbia on our boat. Since empty nesting, we've travelled to New Zealand, Australia, the UK, French Polynesia, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Canada's east coast.
We're looking forward to exploring Europe, revisiting New Zealand, the UK and Australia, and seeing more of Canada, with longer term exchanges of three to four weeks in one home. We're also hoping to enjoy road trips and shorter exchanges in our own province of B.C., particularly around Kelowna, where our daughter lives, and Vancouver Island, where we have many friends. But we're also open to traveling anywhere, to places we haven’t dreamed of yet, so that we can experience as much of the world as possible.
As retirees, we're free to travel anytime, and we'll take excellent care of your home. We look forward to connecting with you.
