Christine and Colin made our visit to their charming village so easy. They sent us lots of good information on the sites to visit before we arrived. They picked us up at the train station and we had a great dinner together before they departed - such a fun couple! Their home is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and has a brand new kitchen. We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing exchange, with lots to explore in Bury St. Edmond and Cambridge. Plus there is an inexpensive bus from their village to London for your return!

We had the pleasure of meeting Christine and Colin before they took off for our home and felt very welcomed by them as they showed us the workings of their house. Christine sent lots of helpful email links for our pre-planning. This is such a beautiful area of England with its rolling hills, farms and little villages. If you're looking for quintiscential England with stone cottages and thatched roofs this is it--forget the hubbub of the Cotswolds. We had the opportunity to explore Cambridge, Ely, Sandringham (the Royal Family's "little"
Christmas get-away) and seaside villages. We had fresh eggs and produce for the little garden they have. Thanks Christine and Colin for sharing your home with us.
P.S. Try the Greyhound pub in the village for a delicious meal

We met Christine and Collin as friendly, warmhearted people in their beautiful house. Together, we looked at Bury St Edmonds and were eating delicious together.
In the evening we had together a still and very nice tour with finishing in a pub. There house is beautifully furnished, very comfortable and has a nice kitchen. Every morning we get a friendly greeting from their chicken. We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing exchange, with plenty to explore in Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Southwold and Thetford forest. It was a beautiful holiday.

We had a great 3 week home exchange with Colin & Christine. They were very gracious and generous with their time, picking us up at the train station and showing us the abbey ruins and town of Bury St. Edmunds for a day before they left for our house. Their home is comfortable and it easily accommodated 4 adults.
Ixworth is a small village and we found the people very friendly. We never lacked for things to see and do. We love gardening and attended 2 open garden days in 2 towns as well as visiting a dozen walled gardens on estates. In all, we saw over 50 gardens, ocean beaches to the north and east, Cambridge, Oxford, and numerous villages with a thousand plus years of history. We found Ixworth to be centrally located. If you like gardening and history, you can easily plan a 3 week itinerary and never get farther than an hour and 15 minute drive. We had a great time and recommend Christine and Colin’s home for an exchange.
