Our house is a great place to spend time indoors with comfortable couches to read or listen to music, a fireplace and air conditioning (heat and cold), a fantastic view over the river, and the Hawkesbury land into the horizon, watching pelicans, eagles, ibis, etc. It is also a great place to spend time in the backyard, by the swimming pool or the garden in general, where you can observe numerous native birds. There is also a pottery studio in the backyard.
Der Raum
The living room looks to the river and fields at the front and the garden at the back. It has two couches in the lounge area and a working space, and another couch in a separate area for watching tv. There is a deck off the living room.
There are three bedrooms; the master bedroom has an ensuite with a shower. One of the other bedrooms has a bed that can be converted into a king-size bed.
We have a beautiful swimming pool, fenced, that uses magnesium salt. We have different sitting areas at the back where to sit and eat. We have a pottery studio at the back of the garden and a kiln in the carport. The garden is very laid back, more like a farm, with raised beds for veggies, some fruit trees, and chickens that run free. In the front garden, we have a beehive, with very friendly bees that look after themselves and leave people alone.
Lots of native birds come to our garden, depending on seasonal flowers and seeds.
Gastzugang
The house is on one level and can be accessed from different parts, but all of them have at least one step to get to the different doors.
Anmerkungen
The chickens will be taken away to a friend's house for stays that are longer than a weekend.
The bees are in the front garden and keep to themselves. People can access the house from the side and back, as well as the front, so that the bees do not even notice people coming and going. But if people would prefer we can take them away to another friend's property for stays that are longer than a weekend.
Pets are welcome, but we ask you to please keep them off the couches, chairs, and beds.

Nachbarschaft
The Hawkesbury river passes in front of the house. There is a river walk and a park with public barbecues, a children's play area, under-cover picnic tables, toilets, a skatepark, a big grass field, and a jetty, from which to start paddling your kayak/canoe.
Nearby the Grosse and the Hawkesbury rivers meet, at the Yarramundi/Navua reserves, which are beautiful and popular places to swim and paddle.
Richmond and Windsor are some of the oldest colonial villages and are very interesting to visit, with some Arts & Crafts tiling and stained glass windows in churches.
The Whitewater Olimpic Stadium is 20 min away, where you can do rafting or canoe slalom; also the Regatta Centre. "Tree Tops Adventure" is 10 min. away. Seasonal fruit picking like apples and berries at Bilpin, bushwalks nearby, or further away at the Blue Mountains.
There is a lot to see and do, and the Visitor Centre in Richmond offers great information.
Zu mir nach Hause kommen
It is best to have access to a car or motorcycle, but there is a bus connection with Richmond, where you can take the train to the city, or to Parramatta, from where you can take the ferry into the city. This last option is quite fun. There is ample parking behind the train station in Richmond.
Nächstliegender Flughafen
Sydney airport is 80 min. away by car.
Rumkommen
There are shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, and doctor surgeries within walking distance, as well as bus stops.

Hello. I am Spanish, my husband is Dutch and we live in greater Sydney, in the Hawkesbury, Australia.
I am a retired teacher and my husband is a professor at university. Our children have left the house, although our son comes and goes. Occasionally we travel with our son. We travel in Australia but our long trips are always to Spain and to The Netherlands, to visit family and friends and to connect with our cultural heritage.
We like hiking, paddling, Nature, reading, art, crafts, music, food, and urban culture as well. We are non-smokers and quiet people. We used to have a dog and a cat but both died recently. We have 3 chickens.
We have a pottery studio at the back of the garden and a kiln, that people are welcome to use.
