General overview
A newly build house in the centre of the city. We love our new spaceous home, everybody has their own place but the living room and dining room area is the center of our life. Our inside climate is cool in summer, cosy warm in winter thankfully the ceiling cooling and underfloor heating coming from the heat pump equipment. We also have a ventilation system with heat recovery, so the inside temperature is always good and the air-change is also handled by the machine. The plants in the garden growing fast, my dream comes true in few years, when every plant reach their size. Every now and then I place new flowers, even if we have already lots of flowers and bushes, but I cant stand it :-)

Neighbourhood
We live 10 minutes walk away from old town, the castle. In a few minutes walk you can reach the park around castle hill, there are playgrounds, historical sights and bars. In 20 minutes walk you can reach the Zoo, and the Veszprémvölgy Park.
Veszprém is very interesting city in all seasons. Take a walk up to the castle that lived the storms of history, where first the endless calm of the timelessness oscillates us between the antique buildings and churches, then at the statute of our first king St. Stephen and Gisela. Veszprém is becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2023. In spring and summer there are a lot of festivals downtown and in the distance of 20 kms, like VeszprémFest, which is a musical fortress of world-class musical productions, Utca Zene Festival (Street Music Festival), The Festival of Dance, JazzPiknik in Palóznak village. In 2021 these festivals are minimized because of Covid-19.
In 15 mitues drive you can reach lake Balaton, which is lined with beaches, nice villages, mixed with rural and noisy touristic spots, but definately a must see destination.
If you are interested in nature, you can find several National Parks within reach from Veszprém, you can go hiking to geoparks or in the hills in Bakony, go skiing in winter to Eplény or run a Marathon at the lake in spring.
