General overview

Modern family house in quiet cul de sac. In a village on the edge of the town of Newton Abbot in popular holiday destination of South Devon, English Riviera, birth place of Agatha Christie. We have a lovely beaches on our door step (10 min drive) as well as stunning Dartmoor National Park for walks, horse riding, cycling. Sherlock Holmes novel Hound of Baskerville book is set in Dartmoor. Many picturesque villages with chocolate box houses with traditional thatched roof are within short 10-20min car drive away. Lovely English seaside towns are up and down the coast. However our favourite place we go to every weekend for a stroll is Torquay Seafront and pier, with many restaurants, beach and Ferris wheel in the summer. Exeter city is only 20 min drive away, it is stunning old university city with cathedral, excellent shops and restaurants. Great night life. We also have two amazing Michelin star restaurants 15 & 20 miles away. Lympstone Manor run by Michael Caines and the Elephant in Torquay. Paignton Zoo is one of the largest in the UK and is only 20 min in the car. Crealy Adventure Theme Park is about 20 miles away and it is Southwest England's largest family Theme Park attraction and is home to over 60 rides, attractions, live shows and a zoo.

Michaela

We are looking for long weekend breaks in the UK, Cotswolds, Wales, Oxford, Bath, Poole. We are staying in Europe this year (2024). Would love warm climate, a town with promenade for walks and people watching, good local restaurants and food markets. Ideally Italy, Croatia, Spain but open to suggestions. In coming years our dream destination will be US mainly Florida, Gulf coast.
