General overview

Hello, thanks for visiting our page. Our home is a modern, architect-designed award finalist home renovated in 2018 in Camperdown, Sydney. The home is a beautifully renovated and extended terrace home split over 3 levels in a quiet setting only 4 km from the Sydney city centre, it is perfect for a couple or family. We had the home renovated in 2018 so it now has 3 bedrooms (one is currently a baby’s room so not suitable for anyone who can’t sleep in a cot!), 2 bathrooms, a rear deck, a balcony off the master bedroom and a stunning skylight feature running through two storeys.

The space

MASTER BEDROOM The master bedroom is spacious and welcoming. The queen size bed is comfortable and has wall lights beside it so you can read in bed. There is a fan and an air conditioner for heating and cooling. The room features a floor to ceiling, wall to wall glass sliding door which lead out to the balcony. Luckily the room faces west so the morning sun won’t wake you while the afternoon sunsets will delight you. There is a walk in robe too however we will store our things in there so this isn’t accessible to you during swaps. We’ll clear out a chest of drawers for you so you can unpack and feel like you’re not living out of a suitcase. Please note there’s no longer artwork hanging on the walls. ENSUITE Off the master bedroom is the ensuite. It features a rain shower head, separate bath tub and a louvred window for fresh air flow. There’s a toilet in here too. SECOND BEDROOM The second bedroom is our son’s bedroom, but don’t worry it’s not a ‘typical’ kid’s room. There’s a soft double bed in here with a nice, plain bedspread (not a Disney character in sight!). The room has a fan, a skylight (with solar powered, remote control blind so you can block out the morning sun and sleep in) and a window that looks out over the kitchen and living areas. THIRD BEDROOM (BABY’S ROOM) This is currently a baby’s room so not suitable for anyone who can’t sleep in a cot! Sorry. KITCHEN The kitchen is a large, light-filled kitchen with wall oven, dishwasher, induction cooktop, microwave, coffee machine and everything else you would expect in a modern kitchen. LIVING AREA The living area with TV is beside the kitchen which keeps everyone in the conversation whilst the cook of the house is preparing the meal. Please note we have a different table to what is shown in the photos and the artwork on the walls has changed. The dining table is now a 2 metres long rectangular one with 4 chairs (there are some additional chairs available - ask us if you need them). MAIN BATHROOM This bathroom is compact and functional yet still lovely. There’s a shower but no bath in here. We’ll clear a drawer for you so you can store your things in here. LAUNDRY AND TOILET The laundry has a washing machine and dyer hidden inside the cupboards. We’ll leave instructions on how to use both. There’s a toilet too. SKYLIGHTS ABOVE KITCHEN A major feature of the house are the skylights above the kitchen. The laundry and the main bathroom have large internal windows that look out and up to the skylights. It’s a pretty ingenious design that our architect came up with and was probably the main thing that saw the house finalised for a design award in 2019. The middle skylight opens so you can let fresh, breezy air in. There also solar powered, remote control blinds. SONOS SPEAKERS There’s Sonos speakers mounted in the living area, kitchen and the master bedroom so you can stream your favourite tunes while enjoying your stay. OUR DOG AND CAR We have an elderly dog (Myffy) who can stay with you or be looked after elsewhere if preferred. A car swap may be possible. CLEANING A cleaner can be arranged for a nominal amount at the end of your stay if you’d like. ATTIC The house also has an attic, which is used as an office. This can double as a bedroom and we can source a mattress if you need this space.

Neighbourhood

Camperdown is a quiet, leafy oasis far enough yet close enough to the lively areas of King Street, Erskineville Road, and Enmore Road. Our favourite for eating is Enmore Road (try Stanbuli, Saga, and Cow and Moon Gelato). King Street has a Dendy Cinema, a supermarket, chemists, and some amazing bookshops (try Better Read than Dead and Pentimento). Camperdown is perfectly positioned to access the delights of Sydney with a bus only minutes walk from our front door and the Newtown train station is 900 metres away. THE THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT LIVING HERE - We are walking distance from Newtown which is a bohemian neighbourhood that bustles with activity day and night. - There are also some beautiful parks (Camperdown Park and Memorial) which are lovely and many cafes and restaurants - Proximity and easy transport to the city - Great local cafes and restaurants (try Camperdown Commons and Store Espresso) - Easy stroll to King Street, Newtown with cafes, restaurants and shopping. Three parks in easy walking distance. Quiet and safe location. - Taking a longer 40 minute walk down to the Glebe foreshore with a visit to Gelato Messina at the Tramsheds on the way - Friendly & safe area - Easy bus or train ride into the city to enjoy

Getting around

We have the 412 bus that stops near home that can take you to and from the city. Newtown station is a 10 minute walk away and is only two stops away from Central Station.
