Neighbourhood

Akureyri is a lovely town by the sea. In the wintertime you can go skiing in Hlíðarfjall mountain. See hlidarfjall.is. Akureyri town is a perfect place for exploring the North region. Possible day trips are f.ex. to Mývatn, Jarðböðin (the blue lagoon of the North) and Dettifoss the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

Snaefridur

We are a family of five. We have been active members on other home-exchange sites through the years wit more than 100 swaps done. At the moment we are only looking for swaps with homes in the Canary islands. Also open for swaps with second homes in Iceland - and homes close to Ranum efterskole i Danmark in june 2024 as our oldest girl is studying there. We normally travel all together but sometimes just me and my husband or just 4 of us. I´m working as a journalist/author and my husband is translator/carpenter. We have our own company and are flexible when it comes to travel. Normally we stay in Iceland during the summer, but you can come to our second homes during summer, but we prefer to go to Spain/Canary Islands during the winter.
