General overview
Our home is a terrace which is deceptively big! 3 bedrooms, 2 home offices, a garden room with tv/sofa, small but pretty garden which is lovely to sit out in. The area is quite quiet with the general buzz of a small town on the outskirts of London.
We have easy access by train to London (between 20 and 30 mins by train depending on which station you’re going to) but it’s a great, calm place to come back to after a busy day in the Big Smoke
We can only travel and make our home available in school holidays as we have kids. In England the holidays are:
2 weeks over Christmas/New Year
1 week mid February
2 weeks over Easter
6 weeks in summer - end of July and all of august
1 week at the end of October and first week of November
We have a small, non-shedding dog who will NOT be here when you stay. Our house doesn’t smell of dogs at all (even been told by people we aren’t just saying this!)
The space
We have a large kitchen/dinner. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances (range cooker, American fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, bean to cup coffee machine). There's a good size dining table plus a large seating area with corner sofa and tv. There's a separate, cosy living room which is lovely and sunny during the day. In this room we have a TV with Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and BBC IPlayer - we don't have satellite TV as we worked out that everything we want to watch is on the channels we pay for!
The bedrooms are a good size - one king bed on the third floor, which has an ensuite, one double bed and one single bed (with full-sized trundle bed underneath) on the 2nd floor. There is a family bathroom on this floor with large bath and separate shower. We also have an office on this floor with a large desk and you are welcome to use this (you'd need to bring your laptop).
We have a back garden with 2 sets of patio furniture - one for dining for 4 people and a rattan sofa set in the sunny end of the garden. We have a summer house with large desk - it's perfect if you need to work from home as it has plenty of space and Wifi. There is also a TV area, bar and double sofa bed as part of the large corner sofa. There is an Xbox which you are welcome to use.
We have lived in our home for nearly 20 years and we have lovingly extended and decorated it over this time. It's a friendly, cosy space and we are very happy to welcome people to our home. We provide bed linen and towels.
We will leave as much information for you as we can about the house and the area and please ask us for any information that you need but we might not have mentioned.
Guest access
We have a 3 storey house - so quite a few stairs. We have 2 steps going to out front door which are fine for a buggy. 3 steps go out to the back garden.
We can leave a key for you in our key safe next to the front door
Notes
We live in a London Borough of Bromley, which is the greenest London Borough. We have plenty of parks, town is much quieter and smaller than London but has everything you need within walking distance from the house (supermarkets, restaurants, bars, cinema).
We have several train stations 15 mins walk from our house and trains take 19 minutes to London Victoria, 23 mins to London Bridge and about 30 mins to Waterloo and Charing Cross. You’ll be pleased to get back to our neighbourhood after a fun but tiring day/night in London.

Neighbourhood
Parks, parks, parks! Lots of little parks and some big ones too! Beckenham is a lovely town for a wander - we often go out for a walk and head for a glass of wine on the way home in one of the bars in town.
We have lots of small shops, a few big supermarkets, lots of restaurants, cinema…..pretty much everything you need.
Getting to my home
London Gatwick is our closest airport. A taxi is about £55 and can take 45 mins or waaaaay longer in rush hour. We prefer to take the train for 15 mins to East Croydon then a 15 minute taxi ride to our house.
Nearest airport
London Gatwick - 45 mins/1.5 hours by car depending on traffic. Train and taxi combination is much quicker
Getting around
We have supermarkets within 10 and 15 minute walk. Or you can drive in a few minutes. We have mini supermarkets and corner shops/off license (liquor store) closer. You can park right outside our house for free if you have a car. A car is useful, especially if you want to travel out to Kent/Surrey countryside but it isn’t essential. Don’t drive to London unless you have to or it’s early in the morning!
