Gwelup is a suburb located in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. It is approximately 14 kilometers from the central business district of Perth and covers an area of approximately 6 square kilometers.
Gwelup is a predominantly residential suburb with a population of around 4,500 people. The suburb is characterized by its leafy streets, parks, and gardens. The suburb also has a number of schools, shops, and cafes. Gwelup is a family-friendly suburb that offers a tranquil lifestyle while still being close to the amenities of the city.
Lake Gwelup Reserve is a popular recreational area, providing locals with opportunities for bushwalking, bird watching, and picnics. Our home overlooks Lake Gwelup Reserve with easy access at the end of the street
Nearest airport
The distance between Perth Airport and Gwelup is approximately 22 kilometers if you take the most direct route via the Mitchell Freeway and Reid Highway.
Getting around
We are happy to also share our car - 2016 Mazda 3 - four door hatch.
Local Shopping - The local shops are a 2 minute downhill walk from the house. This local shopping centre includes chemist, bakery, cafe, hairdresser, gift and dress shop, newsagent as well as supermarket.
Karrinyup Shopping Centre - is located approximately 6 kilometers. The shopping center has over 180 stores, including major department stores such as David Jones, Myer, and H&M, as well as a range of specialty shops selling fashion, beauty, electronics, homewares, and more.
The mall features a modern design with natural light, high ceilings, and spacious walkways. There are also cinemas as well as several dining options, including cafes, restaurants, and fast-food outlets. It is open seven days a week, with extended trading hours on Thursdays and Fridays.
Access to the City - The local bus stop at North Beach Road provides access to Perth City. Check the bus timetable to see which bus route you need to take to your destination in the city.
