General overview

I was walking when I first encountered this house. I knew this would be my place! It's between a hut and a house. Built only with eco-materials: wood, hemp & lime, with more windows than walls. I literally live in nature.

110m2 on one level. Large room (kitchen & living room) on the edge of the woods. 2 bedrooms. 1 shower. Garden with tables and chairs to relax while listening to the birds and watching the horses...

“Le Huan” is a pleasant place to live, around the well-being of all living beings. 5 houses in the middle of a beautiful countryside, a stone's throw from the highest peak of Calvados in Normandy: 363 meters above sea level!! ;) Warm community around with horse sitter, therapist, bird photographer, beer maker, horses, cats, dog... 500m from a river & beautiful horseback riding nearby.

Getting to my home

A car is recommended to get around the area. I live 45 minutes from Caen train station or Carpiquet airport. You can walk if you want, but consider that it will take time! ;)

Carpiquet, 45 minutes by car. Paris, 3 hours by car, or 2 hours by train Paris-Caen.

A car is recommended to get around the area. You can have vegetables and local organic beers delivered to your home. Supermarket, local and artisan markets, delicious French bakery, café, etc... with all the shops are 10 minutes by car in the small town: Aunay sur Odon. Municipal swimming pool: 15 minutes Big city: Caen, 40 minutes. With the large and famous WW2 museum: “The Memorial” Landing beaches: 1 hour Mont Saint Michel: 1h20 Brittany: 1 hour

  • It was a real pleasure to exchange (against a globe) with Anne-Christelle. The house is located in the heart of a horse pension and my daughter, passionate about horses, was able to see them every morning and even take care of them thanks to the kindness of the neighbor and the owners of the horses. The house is atypical and very very pleasant. It must be said that we had the ideal week in terms of temperature and sun. Thank you again Anne-Christelle!

  • We had a wonderful time at Anne-Christelle's home in Terres de Druance, Normandy. Her home is in a small "hameau" where the neighbors, along with the many horse owners that come to visit (as her home sits on a horse farm), all know each other. We never met so many kind and accommodating people....we even got some help (a ride to Caen and a kind neighbor to bring us to the local market) when we had some car troubles. Anne-Christelle's home is very cosy, and is right next to a forest for calm walks. We enjoyed local vegetables, fruits and meats, and some wild strawberries and blackberries growing in abundance nearby. We also took numerous trips to the D-day beaches, which was really memorable. I will always think fondly of this special exchange at Anne-Christelle's with my two daughters.
