*This house was absolutely perfect! We have a family of 4 with a 4 and a 6 year old. The house came fully stocked with board games, books, a ping pong table and lots of toys for endless entertainment. On the adult side, they had a bar cart with fancy glasses for cocktails, any kitchen gadget you would ever need and a TV in every bedroom. The location was close to several ski mountains. Lisa was very fast with communication and answered every question that popped up. We highly recommend and hope to be back again someday."
*We loved staying at Lisa's place for a ski trip at Jack Frost! We loved the details that went into the place, and the touches like the toys upstairs for the kids, dog blankets and treats. Very clean and such a unique stay. Lisa is very easy to communicate with! Highly recommend!"
*Super clean, terrific throwback nostalgic chalet, with all the things you need for a cozy fantastic mountain home stay in the winter! Big Boulder was super close for skiing, and there were great shops and restaurants super close by. Lisa was phenomenal in responsiveness and providing detailed instructions for both check in and check out.I highly highly recommend staying at the Happy Days Chalet!"
*We stayed in The Happy Days Chalet during the height of Fall foliage in the Poconos. We went to Jim Thorpe for the day and really loved it, but honestly wanted to get back to the house fast to enjoy as much time there as possible. The house is absolutely beautiful and the details were so well thought out when renovating and staying on theme. Lisa was extremely accommodating, responding to any questions I had almost immediately and detailing everything out for us prior to our arrival. The house was extremely clean, in a great location to get away and unwind and had so many nice attractions near by! We absolutely would love to go back! Thank you to Lisa for creating the perfect experience for guests!"
*Lisa is such an angel, a host that is one step ahead of everything. She really cares for you and the experience that you are having, she truly works for you to have the perfect trip. She always replied right away with positive attitude and being proactive about anything you need. (She even gave us suggestions about places that we must not miss in our visit to PA!)"
*My family and I loved this place, everything it’s like you see it on the pictures. All the details and decoration make you feel at home, everything is very clean and organized. We love the hot tub! It was clean and well-maintained. It was like being in heaven!
The space
Check us out on Instagram @thehappydayschalet to get an even greater sense of what to expect.
At 900sqft, this sweet little cabin feels quite expansive when you walk into the open kitchen, dining and living space. Completely renovated with a beautiful woodclad cathedral ceiling, floor to ceiling windows bringing in an abundance of natural light, a comfy emerald-green sofa, bright white kitchen, and a retro dining space, you won't know what to explore first. You will see our slogan on the family room wall "Happy days are here again!" This is what we stand for and will do everything we can to ensure that you indeed have a happy stay.
The family room has a brand new electric fireplace operated with remote that comes equipped with LED lights and provides a cozy ambiance (with or without the heat option). You will also find a full-sized jukebox that is bluetooth ready. Or bring your 45s and really jam with that true vinyl sound. You can relax on the sofa and enjoy your favorite tunes or sit back and watch your favorite shows on the 55 in smart tv.
Mix delicious cocktails or mocktails on the bar cart with essentials every mixologist would love; ice tongs, metal straws and a cocktail shaker plus a couple cocktail recipe books (even a retro cocktail book)!
Down the hallway, there is a 1/2 bathroom with a fun midcentury wallpaper and modern black floating sink and toilet, and right next door is a full bathroom with gorgeous emerald green walltiles, and a large walk-in shower with a rain showerhead giving you that spa-like feel.
Just to the right of the main bathroom, is the primary bedroom: The Fonzie Suite. "Aaaaay" this luxe bedroom has a glamorous KING-sized bed, room darkening shade, a 43 in smart tv and a cozy nook with a desk and comfortable seating that may be used as a getting ready space or as a perfect place to telework.
The 2nd bedroom is The Richie Room and is located just off the kitchen. This bedroom comes with a queen-sized bed, room darkening shade and a 32 in smart tv. There is a laundry closet behind a sliding barn door with a brand new stackable washer and dryer.
The 3rd bedroom space is up the fun spiral staircase: The Joanie Loves Chachi Loft. This bedroom/loft space has great views out the expansive windows (open to the main living space below). The loft space has 2 extra long twin beds that can comfortably accommodate children 5 and over or adults. The loft space also has a separate and unique playspace("Bear Cave") with games, toys, bean bag chairs and a television for gaming or movies.
A fabulous hot tub with LED lights and waterfall accommodates 6 people and has a beautiful view of the fern-covered backyard/woods. Also string lights are hung around the hot tub for a lovely glow at nighttime
Guest access
Cabin is not perfectly suited for infants and toddlers as the spiral staircase nor other aspects of the home are baby-proofed - we allow young children, we just want you to understand the risks.
Guests are required (by the community) to read and sign the Towamensing Trails Rules of Conduct through a DocuSign agreement before being given access to the community.
Notes
Our chalet is a smoke-free home. As this is a vacation rental, there is a vacation rental standard that we must maintain so there is a cleaning company charge of $180. This could be left on the counter directly for the cleaning company and does not have to go through us.
Please feel free, though, to discuss this with us as we are open to waiving all or part of this fee with the right exchange.
Either way, you will not have to clean the chalet at all! That should make for a more relaxing trip!

Getting around
The pocono mountains and our chalet is a beautiful and rural destination with scenery and sites that can be easily accessed by car.
Lisa's chalet is just wonderful! We had a very relaxing stay surrounded by nature, animals and peace. The chalet is well equipped and even had a few board games which we enjoyed playing with our kids.
Thank you Caroline! It truly is a very peaceful special place. We are so glad you and your family were able to enjoy the chalet and its lovely surroundings. You are wonderful guests and welcome back anytime.
Lisa’s home is a lovingly styled Pocono vacation home with an 1950s theme. Immaculately clean and comfortable. The area is very quiet. We visited the area to visit some elderly relatives that live nearby and the location was perfect for us. Communication with Lisa was easy. I look forward to hosting Lisa in the future.
We enjoyed hosting you Rene! Thank you for making our first exchange a seamless one. Happy traveling!
Lisa and her husband were excellent guests. We appreciate that they treated our home gently and we would easily host them again.
Whoop whoop we would love that Rene! Such a lovely home ✨
We so enjoyed our stay at Chris and Rene’s beautiful EcoBarn. From the beginning we felt so welcomed with a little charcuterie tray and chilled sparkling wine. The EcoBarn is the perfect mix of rustic with its large barn doors and 2 awesome claw foot tubs (one indoor and one outside). And yet it also has all the modern conveniences we love like AC, a large TV, huge commercial grade stove and just about every small appliance for those that love to cook. The kitchen has all the basics and more, so you can make the perfect meal overlooking that spectacular view. We hope to one day return. This was our first PLU guest experience and could not have been better. A peaceful paradise.
Caroline and her family were wonderful guests! We would recommend to anyone looking to exchange with them. Caroline was always so kind and personable in her messages and communicated well throughout the process. They left our chalet in tip-top shape! We would happily host them again.
Rene, Chris, and Ruby (their little pup) were wonderful guests. Rene and Chris communicated well, followed all of our house and community rules, and left our chalet in excellent condition. We would happily host them again and we highly recommend them as guests.

My husband Ben and I love adventure and exploring new places. We are non-smokers and very respectful of every home. We have traveled for years using Airbnb and understand how to create the perfect place for our guests. We also know how important it is to be great guests.
We have two homes to offer for exchange. One is a cabin in the Pocono Mountains and may only be available for last minute or shoulder seasons as it is a vacation rental. But feel free to msg us about it.
Our primary home is in Bel Air Maryland and if you are interested in that home just message us to discuss timing etc. We can always stay with our kids if the exchange is right (that is why the calendars are not used in either home) There can be flexibility based on the exchange.
Hiking, jungles, mountains, waterfalls and other nature-centered locations are what we enjoy most. We are not excited about cities as much. My husband and I may travel just the two of us or may also bring along 2 or 4 of our adult children depending on the location, accommodations, and time of year.
Please feel free to contact us about any type of exchange as we have already done a couple exchanges and are obsessed with this type of travel and exploring new places!
"Mountain region. Looking for about a week in that timeframe or just after"
