General overview

My apartment is a sunny studio located on the second (top) floor of a small five-unit building in the Ocean Park neighborhood of Santa Monica, two miles from the beach. I affectionately call my apartment a "treehouse" due to its elevated location in the building above the other first-floor units around it, in addition to all of the windows and natural sunlight it gets everyday.

The space

The apartment is mid-century decorated with vintage artwork, candles, and ceramics, and features a large balcony with outdoor furniture and a fire pit. With a queen bed, full-sized couch, and a 43" TV, it's a comfortable space for 1-2 people. For those working from home, the kitchen table is usable as a workspace, or as an alternative, the couch and balcony have comfortable seating, as well as the market next door, which has several outdoor tables. Additionally, there are two popular coffee shops down the street with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I have a storage space underneath my balcony which has a private washer and dryer available for use. No private parking space, but plenty of street parking out front.

Notes

In the case of domestic reciprocal swaps, I'm ideally looking for a two week exchange and 2-4 weeks for international swaps, although timelines are always flexible and open to what works best for the parties involved. Non-reciprocal or GuestPoint stays available, although not as often since this is my primary home.

Neighbourhood

The Ocean Park neighborhood is very safe and extremely walkable (walk score: 93). You can find an excellent local grocery store a few blocks down, as well as great coffee shops, restaurants, and retail shops along the street. Next to my apartment is a small corner market where you can conveniently buy certain groceries, deli sandwiches, alcohol, and coffee. A lovely neighborhood park is located two blocks away. Santa Monica's Main Street and Third Street Promenade, as well as Venice, are all very close, with plenty of people, shops, bars, and restaurants.

Nearest airport

LAX is a 15-30 minute drive from my apartment, depending on traffic/the time of day.

Getting around

There is an e-bike rack located five short blocks down the street from my building where you can rent as needed, or scooters are parked and available in various locations around the neighborhood. The nearest LA Metro station is 1.5 miles away and will take you as far as Downtown LA.
