Neighbourhood

There are miles of hiking trails around the area just outside the door from flat and friendly to a 5 mile uphill hike up Black Mountain that has gorgeous views, and gliders that use the air pockets on a daily basis. There is an avid cyclist network locally and the pods can be joined right from the house - San Diego is the triathlon capital of the USA for a reason. The community is a dark sky - so when it's dark you don't see night lights - you see the stars (and owls, bats, coyotes, ...)

American / British family living in Sunny San Diego, California. We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 little humans age 7,4,and 2. We are starting to travel again with these little humans and looking to stay in family friendly homes for extended times to experience the local culture and most likely simultaneous home exchanges. Our home is a large family friendly modern with pool, large garden, veggie patch, all in a private gated home community built on hiking trails and golf courses. San Diego is a world top travel location with the natural beauty of mountains and beaches and deserts, premier horse riding and surfing and soccer, to of course the attractions like LegoLand, Safari Park, Best Zoo, Aquariums, Sea World, Sesame Street Park, Water Parks within 30 minute drives. Disneyland and Universal Studios are 1.5 hours drive for a day trip or an overnight stay to pack it all in. So much more when you want culture from the Mission trails, lighthouses, old Mexico vibe, new California vibe, top Michelin eating restaurants to food trucks.
