General overview

Our home is a modern apartment with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. It is located on the second floor of a three story building. Each floor contains only two apartments offering great privacy. The building is within a private community with a shared swimming pool and gardens. The apartment faces East which means we see the sunrise over the sea and have great bright sunshine into the living-room and kitchen all morning. The balcony is usually a great sun-spot in the winter as it is sheltered from the breeze. What do we love about our apartment? Well it is quite spacious by Spanish standards. Unlike our home countries, Spanish people generally don’t spend so much time at home indoors. Everything happens outdoors, on the street, in the square or on the beach. Therefore apartments can often be small and dark. We were keen to find a bright home with a nice view as we work from home. We have really nice neighbors, a mixture of retirees, young couples and some families with children. It makes for a nice mix. The location is also excellent. It is only a short beautiful walk to the hustle and bustle of the old town. However when we work, the house is really quiet. Our home is 100% smoke free. You CANNOT smoke inside. Sorry.

Neighbourhood

We live in Sitges, a fabulous little Spanish town with beautiful shops, lots of white sand beaches, great sights, Bohemian bars, cool restaurants and an enviable festival calendar. Best of all, it’s only 30 minutes drive from Barcelona so you can easily stay in chilled-out Sitges and enjoy time in bustling Catalan capital too. Sitges abounds with art and culture. We have an international film festival in October and countless fiestas throughout the year, which means there’s never a dull time to visit. The impressive architectural and cultural heritage of the town is the result of various artists turning the town into an important artistic centre. In fact it has been a resort town since the 19th century, and was a key location for the Modernisme movement, which paved the way for the likes of Picasso. Sitges is still today a classy destination: its array of galleries and museums belie its small size, there’s a good choice of upmarket restaurants in its historic centre (which is lined with chic boutiques). There really is something for everyone here. The town is located in the Garraf Natural Park, 12,820 hectares of forested limestone hills. The park may be reached by car, by bike or on foot from Sitges. It is a fantastic place for cyclists and hikers.

Getting to my home

Usually, the most used transport to go from Barcelona to Sitges is the train: with affordable prices and spectacular views They also have a very good frequency during the day time slot, although the bus lines offer a longer time slot providing service throughout the night. By car from Barcelona is a journey of about 30 - 45 ‘ by toll motorway, or along the coast road (without toll) with spectacular views. The taxi is the most expensive option, but with personalized door-to-door service that can be interesting depending on the needs of the traveler.
