Neighbourhood

Driving to the very center of Oslo is about 45 minutes. A bit closer you have the city of Lillestrøm 25 min drive, where you'll find restaurants, shops and shopping malls. Then you have the village of Fetsund 15 min away, and our very local grocery store is about 7-8 min drive. Our place is a paradise for kids who can enjoy the big garden with a trampoline and swings, or explore the forests around the house. It is really safe to let the children run around outside, and there is no traffic, as you are in the end of the gravel road that leads to the house. There are lots of hiking posibilities around the house and elsewhere in the area. It is possible to just walk down the hill from the house to get to the lake, but just a few minutes’ drive away, you’ve got the nice little beach of Gansvika, where you have a restaurant, kiosk, and public BBQ areas.

Nearest airport

We are about 50 minutes south of Oslo International Airport.

Getting around

You will need a car to get around from our house. The nearest grocery shopping is 7-8 minutes by car, and we are 2 km from the bus stop. We will be happy to do a car exchange.

We are a family of four with two boys age 13 and 16, with a desire to explore the world! We love the traditional recipocal exchanges, where we can get to know our exchange partners, live like lokals in their home town, and maybe have a little chat with their neighbours from time to time. We also like the flexibility of the globes! We are exchanging both our large lake view house in the countryside outside Oslo, and also our skiing chalet in Hafjell, Lillehammer, so we are somewhat flexible and can do both simultanous and non - sim exchanges. We are however only able to travel in school holidays. For 2024 we would love to go to Asia! Looking to travel some time from end June to July.
