General overview

We are a family of five ( 2 parents and 3 kids). We live in the beautiful and historical town of Alkmaar in the West of Holland. Our first exchange was in 2015 and we have had 5 exchanges so far and we love it! Feel free to contact us right a way!

Our home is a beautiful brick house with a sunny garden. Built in 1930. With 4 bedrooms, bathroom and a living room with kitchen.

Neighbourhood

Alkmaar is one of the nicest and most versatile shopping cities in the Netherlands. It has a rich history and some fascinating museums, if that tickles your interest. But it also offers great entertainment and the opportunity to visit special events, such as the world-famous cheese market. Alkmaar is also the perfect base for a day at the beach (10 minutes), mountain biking in the dunes, golfing, canoeing or a day trip to Amsterdam (30 minutes) or Haarlem (20 minutes).

Getting around

From Alkmaar you can very easily travel anywhere in the Netherlands by car, bike or train.

We live in Alkmaar. A nice Dutch town with a relaxed atmosphere. The beautiful beaches are nearby (just 15 minutes). And Amsterdam is just a few stops away (just 30 minutes). We have a family-friendly house, a nice garden and (of course) a lot of bikes. We are a family of 5 (2 parents and 3 kids). Our first HE was in 2015 and we have had 5 exchanges so far and we love it. We are non smokers and we have no pets.
