General overview
We live in Kilchberg, a quiet community just outside of Zürich, very well connected, near the train station. The city is also accessible by public boat, minutes from home. What we love about our apartment is that in 5 minutes walk we access lake Zürich. In season we swim and stand-up board daily. We go running in the park by the water or up the mountain all year round. The entire apartment is facing the lake to the East, allowing gorgeous sunrises and snow-capped mountains to enjoy from the terrace and bay windows. We have two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, and an open kitchen overlooking the lake scene, including sailboats, rowers and water skiers in season . We live a 1:30 hour drive from the ski resorts in Graubünden Alps. Our favorite place for ski weekends is Davos.
The space
The entire apartment faces the lake, so each room is bathed with natural light and unobstructed views of the lake and mountains. The terrace is like a second living room to chill outside. We have a large living room, a fully equipped American kitchen, and a dining area, all overlooking the lake. The master bedroom has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. The guest room has a comfortable sofa bed that unfolds into a queen size bed. There is also an office with high-speed internet, for those who home office when traveling. The apartment is ideal for a couple, but it is possible to accommodate a second couple or a child in the guest room. There is a bathroom with a shower and separate toilets.
Guest access
The apartment is on the second floor (third floor US on standards) with an elevator. We are minutes from the small Kilchberg railway station, which takes you in 10 mn to Zurich main station. From there there are speed trains to everywhere in Switzerland, as well as Paris, Milano, Muenchen and more., which makes Zürich a strategic place to stay to visit Europe.

Neighbourhood
Kilchberg is a small, quiet lakeside town, world-famous, thanks to the Lindt Home of Chocolate museum, which attracts visitors from the entire world all year round. The chocolate factory is a ten 10-minute walk from our home. When the wind blows from the South, our street smells of chocolate and praliné... We also enjoy a big park along the lake, minutes from home. A great place to chill, run, swim, standup paddle, and picnic.
The Zürich region has many hiking trails, including the Uetliberg, which is connected to the city by a rack-and-pinion train.
If you are into culture and food, Zürich has a lot to offer. Ranked as one of the top most livable cities in the world, Zürich is reputed for its easy, enjoyable lifestyle as much as for its banks. The Kunsthaus (Museum of Modern Art) just opened a new wing with world-class exhibitions. The old town is picturesque with its maze of small streets, its fountains, 15 Michelin-star restaurants, and other more affordable eateries.
Getting to my home
The airport is 40mn by train, a very easy access from terminal to our door. By car, we are 20mn from Zürich. However, everything is easily accessible by public transport in Switzerland.
